I have to say well done! Like Bill said you really attend to the details.

How's cooking in the oven after 'baking Honda'?  :D

Also, can you tell me more about the stuff you used to clean the wheels and other parts? Never heard of the stuff.

"Milk Stone Remover" (MSR) - available at Farm and Fleet, Tractor Supply, places like that.
It's about 70 percent phosphoric acid, dyed orange for safety - mix it down by half with water for use.
It's actually a dairy product, farmers use it to clear calcium dpeostis from their stainless pipework.

My rust remover of choice, I keep a big cooler full and process nearly all my parts through it.
Hell on rust, won't touch chrome, fairly safe to use.
Absoulutely great for de-funkifying tanks, gets every nook and cranny.

I just read through your build thread. The poor little Hawk... My wife has one and I love it. I've been keeping my eye out for one to "Play" with.

The little 400 twins are greats engines. :)

My last post got me to thinking and I hopped on ebay for a little bit. I found a Hawk for sale:
1978 Honda CB

It has this decription:
This series motorcycle was designed for the sport touring market.  It has 28.5 horsepower and a red line of 9,500 rpm.  Safe, comfortable and easily rideable with a synchromesh 4-speed transmission, it will provide years of continuous service to the lucky winner.  Carrying passengers is never a problem as this motorcycle has foot pegs for passenger also.

Doesn't sound quite right to me...  I highlighted the interesting parts.  ;D  Granted I have ridden my wife's 400, with her on the back seat, at 70 mph down the highway.

okay, thread highjack over. back to the 450...
