That's pretty cool T500.
Shop I worked for came 8th or 9th in 1970 IOM TT with one (few years before I worked there).
They will crack cylinder heads if spark plugs are overtightened, second was a bit weak but otherwise a great bike
I had fun with the later GT500, electronic ignition was a definite plus

I really like the metal work on the knee cutouts. I bet that's a zippy little booger if you weigh less than 150.

Man that is nice.  I am interested to hear what the dirt bike inspired pipes sound like. Nice work.

They are not 'dirt bike inspired' thats what works best on two stroke racers -expansion chambers or 'spannies'

"Tuned" Exhaust, yes? The design of the pipe uses sound wave energy to help better evacuate the exhaust gases from the port.

My work computer won't let me open up the pic of the GT. Have to wait until I get home... and shovel out oall of the snow from the driveway...  :P

While I don't know that year that one is, here is some Suzuki info (which will include the T500 & GT500) for those who might be interested:

       http://www.suzukicycles.org/All-Suzuki/all_suzuki_models.html

  The T500 was produced from 1968-74' & the GT500 from 1975'-77'
