Topic: Removing CB750 Starter shaft pin

There was a thread on renoving this pin. But I'll shoe you some pic here. The first one shows the pin. However, it has already been pulled a little bit. usually you would just see about 1/4 inch of the pin or less.

This is how its done. Grip the stub of the pin that is sticking out with some vice grips, collapsing it a little bit. Slide a lever under the vice grip and wiggling the vicegrip left to right, apply some pressure with the lever. The pin should move up a tad. Reposition the vicegrip and do it again. Quickly, you will have the pin removed.

Also, when I went through this(some of yoiu may remember  )....I had to set the vice grips tighter than would allow me to close them around the pin.  My solution was to have an assistant(girlfriend) hold the vice grips in place, while I took a 2nd pair of very large pliers and squeezed the vice grip handles closed.  That closed the gap on the pin and provided a tight enough grip on the pin to wiggle the sucker out.
