Hey, got a '78CB400T-I Hawk, (Photos on the way once it looks like a bike again) and I'm wondering what other exhaust are "bolt on".  I'm in the central Texas scrublands, and online is about my only option for parts.  My existing headers are salvageable, but since I only paid $50USD for the complete bike, the rest of the exhaust is snotter city.

I considered welding on straight but rejetting doesn't sound like fun. I'm not married to stock either.  Any thoughts on not using an expansion chamber and strapping on some kinda muffler.  The company that makes Cherry Bombs is right up the street...

Cherry Bombs would probably work or there are cheap aftermarket slip-on mufflers that work if the pipes are still good.

JC Whitney slip-ons will be your best bet for fit, function and low price.  About 10 different styles to choose from.

The mufflers that JCW sells that fit and mostly look ok are the same EMGO slip-ons that CRC2 sells for a few $ less X2....

JCW also has cruiser stuff that you can get at the local store without the freight.

I have got plenty of good stuff from JCW in the past.... and have also had them grab a random box off the shelf, cross out the printed part number, scribble the part number I ordered on the box, and ship it.

Anyone need an idler arm for a '70s Caddy?

Good Suggestions, I needed a starting point more than anything.
I've got a JC Whitney catalog coming in the mail, we'll see what I find.

Got a lot of work before I actually get to the exhaust though... check her out.
