Another Foam Question
« on: December 13, 2008, 12:39:46 PM »
Hi,

Anyone know what kind of foam is used on the cafe style seats that aren't upholstered with anything? I think the top one might be what I'm looking for http://www.airtech-streamlining.com/miscpages/foam.htm. Anyone used this stuff?

I would go to an auto upholstery shop and ask to buy med density foam from them. a shop near me was happy to sell 5ft to me for 5 bucks.

For about $20 US at a craft store or fabric store, you can find suitable high density foam for a motorcycle seat, but be sure to check the feel of a stock seat before you buy, wouldn't want to use foam that's too soft or light in density.

I bought memory foam for my Airtech seat as well. Bought 1/2 inch of firm foam and 1 inch of medium dense foam. Firm was so I dont bottom out my ass on the seat with a bump.
