  • CAFE RACERS, IT'S WHY THERE ARE BENDS IN THE ROAD.
CAFE RACER BOOK CARPY ON COVER
« on: December 14, 2008, 08:29:41 PM »
Hey gang
Well I do not get on here at all, remember, I build bikes for a living, and typing with 2 fingers takes some time.
Yes, thats me on the cover and about 7 other pictures and a write up on me in that book.
No, I did not write it, I am writing one myself.
Yes, my bikes do now have more bells and whistkes, but I am creating what the customner asks for.

To be honest i have had my cafe racers since I was 15 years old, my frst was actually 1977 but legal on the road at 78.
My dad rode his cafe at the Ace in 1959 and was a rocker.

Cafe Racers are my life, I have always been into them, although any cafe in any guise is cool to me, be it Triumph, Bsa, metric, italian, anything.

My Newest ride is this, i built it this year and completed it last week.
I shall be at the International motorcycle show in San Mateo next weekend. from Friday to Sunday.

I was always on this forim, its one of the best in the world, but I am so busy at work and on the computer at home, i have over 1000 emails to reply too right now, so thats the main reason I cant get on here much, although i do miss it, as I made many friends.

I love my CB750's and will continue to build my creations, some may not like them at all, and thats cool, each to their own, but I do promote motorcycling as much as I can and was a dispatch rider in LONDON for over 20 years on a Cafe Racer.

That book that is out has nothing to do with me, I did not know i was on the cover until about 2 months ago.

They took the shot from the cover of Motorcycle classic when i was on there.

I will help anyone with their bike in any way or form I can.

Bikes are my life and I hope that some of you can understand why I cant get on here as regularly as when I was working from home in my garage.

Peace and Grease to you all.

GREAT TO SEE YOU ON HERE!  Beautiful work on that Koppa Cafe Carpy!  I dig your work and style and can say that the bug REALLY hit me when I started seeing your bikes.  You always answered questions I had in emails....maybe a month after I wrote them but that is certainly understandable.  I imagine you get hammered with tons of emails.

Keep on building those beautiful bikes and good luck at the show!

Good to see updates on your work.  I picked up a cafe seat from you for my 750 project, I am in the middle of painting it to match the rest of the bike, hoping to finish to ride to the San Mateo show but looks like it will take a bit longer  (picking up a spraygun after fifteen year break can really humble you).  hope to see you there!

Your bikes always bring tears to my eyes man. I wish I could create something that beautiful. I can make 'em run well, but I have no talent for style.

I've been wondering what you were up to. You posted a lot of new finished bikes I haven't previously seen. Consider me a huge fan.

I was a dispatch rider in LONDON for over 20 years on a Cafe Racer.

When was that Steve? I dispatched for a while during the university vacations (fair weather dispatch rider  8)). I was on the 500/4 in my avatar, even then, not a good bike for dispatching - although I did "dispatch" a few others in the traffic light grands prix!

Maybe even raced you down the Marylebone Rd once or twice?

Love the new green bike - very cool, particularly with the gold frame and short exhaust....  ::)
