hi all,
i figured i ought to post my intro, since it seems like the polite thing to do, even though i am generally the anti-social, only child type.
i live in southern oregon, as i have most of my life. i am 28, married, no kids, 2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 chinchillas and a fish. i am pretty much a pony short of a petting zoo. i was working at the NAPA auto parts, but thanks to our lovely economy i am now unemployed. i feel like tiny tim this christmas.
my first love is classic BMW's (cars), but i have always wanted a motorcycle, and after getting the cafe bug i started scouring the internet, that's how i ended up here, and hit on a 76 CB550 for a hundred bucks. doesn't run yet, but wasn't frozen up. its winter, and i needed something to do, so let the adventure begin. i would like to make quite a few upgrades and mods, but i have to remind myself it is more important to run, than to look great torn apart in the garage, especially since cash is tight. fortunately my wife is the service manager at a motorcycle dealership, so i have access to parts and mechanics, as if i needed anything more than these message boards.
i have a project thread started, but so far it doesn't seem like any one cares. oh well, you all seem really nice and haven't been a$$ holes to me or anything.
thanks to all who participate and share their knowledge and experiences. i really dig on the people helping people thing, and i enjoy being a part of it too.
later,
ryan
