Actually the 21'' wheel pictured above came with dual cross drilled discs. They wouldnt fit in-between the fork legs, but they could with some "effort".
On one hand I want to keep the drum brakes for the older feel, and on the other side I want to do a dual disc setup.And on the other side I kinda want to keep the 21'' front wheel
and dual discs for a running project (like the CL450 sitting in my garage)..

We shall see...

just my opinion but unless you're planning other modern updates that would compliment twin disks i would keep the drum. this to keep a cohesive look. but drill the drum (would look boss) and polish. i'm a believer details trump flashy parts. since this will be a static display of kinetic art (pretentious label i know) people can get close to see the little things.

This bike will def. be detailed to the max (believe me).
Lots of speed holes, polishing, griding smooth welds on the frame, professional paint, etc..
I am taking my time because I really am in no rush to get it done, plus I want it to be done the right way the first time.

I have decided to keep the drum brake setup (front and back) to keep the "oldschool" look. Gonna speed hole the hell outta them, and either polish or paint them. I am prob. going to paint the wheels and hubs gloss black (to cover the pitting on the wheel now). If I do that I will polish all of the drum parts to contrast aginst the black.

Actually what you are looking at are PBR "garage sale" streamers/banners/flags/etc...
I am friends with the PBR rep here in Chicago and he always gives me nifty promo items..

The seat is a Ducati single knock-off that comes upholstered.
I ordered the seat fromhttp://www.clubmanracing.com/index.phpand will be again as soon as I get to that point of the build (not for awhile). I am lucky to have the one offa my old CB450 to use as a mock-up seat...

547: You asked "wondering if you know of a good parts fiche for it?". I have the same CB160 and I got a microfiche copy of the Honda parts list that I scanned into 135 JPEG images. Works great. I also have a digital copy of the service manual. Send me a PM and maybe we can work something out.

UPDATE:
My buddy Chad that owns http://www.AceMotorcycleAndScooter.com stepped up and gave me some old CB something carbs that I can use for the project. They are gumy as hell but atleast they look good (which is all that matters to me on this project). I am gonna tear them apart and paint them (prob. gloss black), but thats down the road.

Borrowed my buddies grinder and went to town on the bike today (for alittle while). Started to grind all the tabs/brackets and welds smooth on the bike. I hung some painters plastic to keep all the dust/crap outta the kitchen and the rest of the apartment. Looks like a scene from SAW but it seems to be working. Def. need to get some earplugs, becasue that grinder in that little space made my ears ring for a hour ! Have no plans tomorrow so I wanna get some more grinding done. Also need to get the motor outta the frame so I can tear that apart and have it sandblasted.Once it's all clean I am gonna scuff it up and powdercoat it clear. Prob. gonna rattlecan the rest of the bike but as I have said before that has yet to be determined.
Out to the bar I go, It's my B-DAY !

Did you toss the headlight? I've got a CB175 I will be getting to after the 750 and I'd love to find a way to make that work on it if you're interested in parting with it.

The headlite got tossed after I found a family of spiders was living inside of it ! It was also so rusted that I literally took a screwdriver and pushed it right thru the housing. Pretty much everything on this bike is junk (rusted way too bad for use). Good thing it is never gonna be ridden..

1/17/09
So after taking some time off I thought I would get some work done on the apt. bike.
The "dining room" part of my kitchen looks like a scene outta SAW, but it does a great job of keeping
the crap contained to one spot (and not all overy my place)...

Got the frame grinded down to where I want it, still need to do alittle more work with the "flapper" wheel, but you get the idea..

Next I am gonna clean up the wheels the best I can, then get them ready for paint (gloss black). Beofre I paint I need to
speed hole the hell outta the rear brake drum (along with lots of other parts). Need to figure out what tires I want and order them up, along with a cafe seat,
some clubman bars, new headlite, lower the center stand,etc..

Lots of work, but I am in no rush

Sorry I think it's a sin to spend that much time on a sweet bike like that, and not ride it.

However I think it will be very cool when it's done. I am a huge fan of the cb160.

I def. agree with ya.
But this bike was a basketcase when I became the owner of it, and I knew going in that it was destin to sit in my living room.
After working on this one though I def. want to get another running CB160 Cafe going for the road (eventually)..

The next project bike I am going to build that will actually move under it's own power is going to be a HD Sporty hardtial bobber deal-e-o...
