Patent This !
« on: December 21, 2008, 09:29:45 AM »
High water mark of The Career with Kodak.
Went to Rochester for an in-house tech fair.
Took my panoramic camera exercises.
Largest is the 8x10 rotary reflex-takes a 360 degree picture
on 8x10 sheet film---can be seen
with cycle wheels.
I am pictured with the president of Kodak who is trying to
figure out why one of his field sales guys is building cameras.
Camera on the right is designed to look into an Egyptian tomb.
Photo lampshades on the left are made of extremely flammable Kodak
product called "Duratrans".

I stopped drinking 15 years ago.
At least, that's why I'm still alive.

Hey Gerhed,
If you helped us to make shades with our pics on them, and we put em on lamps that slowly turn.. like the Niagra Falls ones... I think people would buy them...

what year was that?
the reason i'm asking is that we played with a 360 degree camera in the early 70's

The year of the tech fair pictured was 1987.
I'd been messing with this stuff since '80.
By the early 90's digital was beginning to make the mechanical
360 pan cameras obsolete--still the more "elegant" solution, I think.
In the 70's I worked for a company in Chicago that used the Kodak Cirkuit Camera.
Film was 10 inch by 10 feet.--could do 360's or more.
