Someday maybe I will post some of my work... (the level is too high by now!)
Sorry salvatore you don't get away that easy. Give with the art. ;D I like Sasek's work- thanks for posting it! I've been always interested in illustration and painting as used in commercial work. Before the current trend in anything a computer spits out illustrators were in demand and it occasionally resulted in a taste of fine art in ones daily life. BTW: nothing against computer artist but there's almost a prejudice against hand draw work these days by those who decide such things.

'pills, I cringed when I read your post. Ya think the movers were art lovers?

vwdan, you're nuts. Bet I'm not the first to tell you that huh? :D Awesome!

VolkswagenMAD is right!!! upss... is it Dan or is it Mad?  ;D

Anyway as you have used the magic words (I thought they were "or I will break your legs", but "please" is also accepted) here you are some of my designs. I would not call it art but... some for Sprinfield (clothes shop) and for the Nissan Micra contest

Hope you like it,
Salvatore

I'm interested in 'patina' surfaces as art subjects too.

Last one is my goofing around.

That's a good idea really. So far it's searching for it and I have a friend with a bunch of old heaps. Junk yards would be good but those are far and few around here these days.

What is interesting isn't just the wild abstractions, but that you can take them out of their environment, and present it in a new context.

I should add that only the yellow ones are mine.

Couple more. Don't know if it's 'Fine' art, but a neat study anyway.

Hey Ecosse, great job!!

You are the one that's really several steps ahead of me, and also you VkswnMad. Anyone with a computer can really make it with photoshop, it's just a matter of time, but when you have a pencil or a brush in your hands...mmm that's different!

I like the abstract "out of context" ones. I also like to take pictures of abstract things in nature, sometimes rocks and plants are amazing. I will search mi pictures and post some of them...

Like the boxing one also

ecosse,  i think your onto something here.
what if you shot these with a macro lens?
that would allow you to get real close and show insane detail.  then blow it up real big like 4ft x 8 ft.
i think it would really interest the viewer.   you might be able to get several hundred dollars for work like that. maybe more if you're in the right place.
kinda like salvatore is saying. abstract things out of context.
last couple years ive been getting more into photography.  digital is so great. no more dark rooms, and instant image review!!!   i even got myself a good little camera to play with.
sal, post those pics.  i'm gonna do the same.
don't take me too seriously.

I love it guys! Admitting, I'm not as much into photography as the messy arts. I tend to see my camera as a periphery tool, an aid to those messy arts. But ya would have to be blind to not appreciate the possibilities of the camera.

OK, bad joke.  ::)

The two things that got me thinking along the lines you two are talking about are that my home town paper had a weekly mystery image; a picture of something taken up close and turned around. If you could guess what it was ya won something. Also, to some degree, was the art of Georgia O' Keeffe's close up flower studies.
