Reminds me of Alzheimer. I still hear people say "man that would be so cool I hope I get it" thinking about the myth of a 'second childhood'. Geez, what Hell that must be. It breaks my heart.
It's a tricky wire to walk; to be able to laugh at anything these days without repercussion beyond the limited and PC topics of white people and anything they do, men and anything they do, Christians and Jews with their 'silly' rules, customs, etc... without seeming like a monster... and being able to put some levity into our lives and remove some of the scariness of a subject.
The difference between those things are hard to gauge across borders, cultures, and over the internet.
I still cringe from some jokes about strokes. My grandmother had several and I watched her die from her last one. On one hand I realize (especially when it's a friend) the joker isn't being hateful, and I usually see why it's meant to be funny. Just cuts too close to the bone for me to be funny; and in the end I suppose it comes down to context and tact.
Man, nothin' but sunshine and rainbows over here huh?! Is now a bad time for a penis joke?
