cb750 build in alabama
« on: December 23, 2008, 12:57:20 PM »
Got me a cb750 back in May 2008 and I was only able to work on it a little here and there until now.  After trying to get it going as it was, I finally decided to take it down to the frame and build it exactly how I want.  I look forward to talking to everyone here. I'm already a member over on caferacer.net. Here are a couple pictures showing my progress so far.  When I brought her home:
Then I renewed a couple things:
Then I started taking it down:

How she sits now:

Well, you're halfway there!
Is that an "F" with a "K" tank, or a "K" with "F" wheels, or ??? .
See SOHC4shop@gmail.com for info about the gadgets I make for these bikes.

Haha my bike started like yours did.

I ended up tearing it down to nothing after it wouldn't hold paint.

Funny, we've been trying to figure out what the deal is with my wheels and brakes over on another forum.  Come to find out the po put  '78 cb750A wheels and brakes on my '76 cb750K.  Apparently, '78 A's were the only bikes that had comstars with a single disc up front and a drum setup on the back.  Think I'm going to end up putting duals in the front off a 77 or 78F.  Right now I have it down to the frame and will be starting the rebuild soon.  The tank is a '76 K I think. After I tried resealing the inside and repainting the outside I found out, it still leaks! I think I'm going to put a 76-78F tank on when I put it all back together.
