They really are beautiful bikes, and, when the engine lets go you can fit CBR600 motor with minimum modifications  ;D

how do people get these bikes in the country? I see them pop up from time to time and I've always wanted a baby CBR.

In Britain its called grey or parallel imports.
In Britain there was a law passed to prevent manufacturers refusing warranty on brand new bikes (it was common from around 1990 to have parallel imports on Gold Wings, we sold several at the  Suzuki dealers I worked for)

So, you never did get to work on one  ;D
The 400 was the best V-four Honda made though, I've said it before (and I'll say it again  ;D)
My sister almost bought one ( almostt exactly like the one you raced) but I wanted her to get the CBR400RR instead, (we had one in stock)
So... being a woman, she bought a Kawasaki GPZ600????????

Yes Nick, a baby RC30 ;D ;D ;D
PJ, It was a full power UK model not an import.
It had slightley bigger head lamps and rear views.
The motor was to diferent specs as was the ignition.

Hi Sam,
that's really cool, pretty rare beast, don't remember ever seeing the official import except at ( I think NEC) Bike Show

They were very expencive PJ, they were priced at the same as the CBR100, probably why a lot more grey imports were sold.
Shops couldn't sell them and I know the guy I got mine from, got it £2000 off list price.
