I've got an  EBC rotor on the way, if you're lucky, the distributor will have 'em in stock, but I put my order in about 10 minutes too late, and someone had already snapped up the few he had left. Sooo, Three weeks later, the distributor's rep called me to tell me its on the way. Turns out the cast centers were what the holdup was....I'll be bolting the rotor up on my '75 cb750F and my '73 K to see if its compatible with both styles of brake caliper...I'll report back when I know more...

did you see my EBC rotor that you can get from dyno man i'm going to get mine and use it with the stock caliper i'm using EBC pads and braided lines and i rebuilt my stock M/C and used new dot4 synth fluid

The Rotor is 199.99 from DYNOMAN.com

Besides this rotor from Dynoman is there a 320mm rotor from another bike that will bolt up to our 750 hubs?   I have a set of R1 calipers left over from a V-Max project that I would like to use.

The Rotors on the Honda are from a RC51 and are 320mm but you have to make adapters to make them fit
2002 RC51 1000 (SP2)

2002 998 Dukati (Customers Bike)
1992 KTM500 2 stroke

Great. So no one knows off hand if there is a significant difference in brakes as per the 69-76 and 77-78? Yeah, I'm on the edge of my seat to see if it will work for an early 750 k. Man, I'd be so happy for a rotor that doesn't suck balls. If it doesn't work, I think I might just have to get with my parts manufacturer and make something up.

Steuve..If that's your bike in your avatar and you're the guy I'm thinking of, I'll see you Wednesday night up in Ballard...and you'll get to see the rotor first hand...

I haven't yet taken pictures, but I can say that the EBC rotor works. Reeeallly well. After a few quick stops to  scrub in the rotor, I gave the brake lever a quick hard squeeze and was able to lock up the front wheel, with old crummy stock lines. Stainless lines and a freshly built caliper are going on this weekend. I don't think I'll need a second disc after that...

SEEEEEEE I have been saying this all along... my 04 harley 1200C has a SINGLE disk with a single piston caliper and a drilled rotor and DAM that thing can stop!!!!!

so this has been my thought the whole time since i first seen this rotor it seemed MUCH better than just cross drilling a HEAVY junk of our soo called stock rotor.... now i cant wait ti'll i get mine!!! since i have a rebuilt caliper steal braided lines and a rebuilt master cycl OH and my EBC pads!!!

This's my last Brembo's breake system project:
-double 320 mm airon-cast discs,

-old 2 pistons Brembo's calipers (from BMW), I'm near to be ready with the mounting suports.

- PT billet radial brake pump (19 mm).

Next week other pictures.

NICE!!

 Now your talking my language!
Do you know anything about the Brembo MQ discs you have? Like what makes them different from the other Brembo discs?

http://www.geocities.com/fischervintagecycle/Fischheads.html

I have seen for a long time your works and I saw that you have already worked with the disk as my own.
At home I have a lot kinds of discs, I studied and I saw that the brembo are better for power measurements and weight.
These discs are made of cast iron and are floating, working with organic pads, they give the best result feeling-power braking.
Now I'm working on the supports for the calipers,

curiosity: what kind of aluminium do you use?
Now I'm working with Al6082 anticorodal.

Hot action! Just got the EBC Rotor. I was able to source it through a vendor. This thing is AWESOME!!! I had to take a hacksaw and cut the bottom edge of each brake pad to get the new rotors hollow pins to clear. Outside of that. Straight bolt on. I'm waiting to get some good stops going on it (I've only got about 20 or so from about 20mph). But stopping power seems way more solid. AND IT DOESN"T SQUEEL!!!! I'll keep you guys updated as I get more info. ..

Stevie,
So all you had to do was slightly clearance the pads, so that they'd clear the rotor pins? Roughly how much? I haven't yet had time to bolt it onto my '73 to find out....

Yes, yes, and yes. 1974 CB750. All you have to do is notch out a small amount on your brake pads to clear the hollow pins. Works like a champ. Although, I wasn't happy with my cutting job: could have left a bit more pad (and there's not much to begin with) and also want to radius it rather than cut a straight line also allowing for more pad surface.

Nice to know that they'll fit with minor modification.

Also- I have these available as well.
Free shipping.

EBC Standard Brake Rotors

75-76 CB750F
77-78 CB750K
Front or Rear: $189.99

The only downside is they'll immediately be put on back order.
So if there's enough of a demand, maybe they'll ship em faster.

I'll discount the pads also with the rotor purchase. None of which will be on back order.

75-76 CB750F Front: $28.00 pair / Rear Pads: $25.00
77-78 CB750K Front: $28.00 pair / Rear Shoes: $35.00

For what it's worth.

'78 CB550K - Fokker CB.3
'78 Honda CB750K - Mavrik
'80 Yamaha XS850G - Kanibalistik

Errr, but when your pads wear down won't the bottom part of the pad then start to contact the buttons again? Wouldn't want to find out under braking from speed what happens when a pad clouts a button! May be worth checking before you find out for real...

I cut the brake pads all the way down to the metal backing plate, thus I've got the entire life of the pad to wear through before button clearance becomes an issue. And brakes are routine maintenance and should be inspected frequently. So I'll know long before it's "oh #$%*" time.

Best keep cheking to stay safe - you don't want the backing metal to clout those buttons!
