There is never room for a re-grind but a light polish might work. to be honest with all the used engines/cranks out there is it worth it?

Classic "Dirty Oil" pictures
That journal really doesn't look that bad to me BUT it is a pic. I agree a polish will more than likely do it. The problem I've run into with used cranks and rods is they have either been sitting in a non running engine for years and have they begun to rust or they been sitting out of an engine and are rusting.

I've had APE do 6 cranks for me. 200.00 or 225.00 is dirt cheap. I would question the work if it was any less than that.

the mains are  35.988mm  + or - .002mm

I think there's enough meat there to polish and reuse....  anyone?

measure the unworn part in the middle and the worn part beside it see if you can find any difference.

just polishing a crank should run 40 bux or less, its pretty quick, make sure they dont mark up the crank..

You should be able to tell if the rod small end is bushed or not, try a magnet, tho you should be able to see a collor fifference if it is bushed.

The rock could get in there if you were real sloppy at oilchange time.. come in ther on the plug or get pushed in if you wipe around the hole AFTER you pull the plug..

the mains measure .001 or less difference on the unworn part as the worn part.

about the small end, theres no bushes, no trees, just wear.... lots of wear.
the engine must've had low oil levels for a while or something.
no matter, I wanna get new ones anyways.
