Here's a shot of the camera--a younger gerhed is explaining it's function to some Kodak
engineers at an in house tech fair in the 80's.
Most of the camera was later recycled into various 3-wheeled cycle projects.

Very interesting though. I'm assuming young Gerhed crafted it?

Here I am, considering building my own 4x5 field camera, not much of a challenge by comparison. ;)

Yes --crafted by myself.
Very cumbersome to haul around.
Took it down on The Mall once--
The camera only took about 50 pictures during it's lifetime.
Building a camera is a noble project--I would say.
A successfull camera builder and designer once told me
"light is very thin".--believe it & good luck !---Phil
