Any ideas?

Some more observations might get you more responses.
One component of the clutch is the oil.  What are you using and what has it been using? Any additives?
Age of clutch?
Repair history?
What adjustment procedure have you followed/used?

How hot is is hot?

Do you use lower gears?  Or, higher gears and slip the clutch a lot?  Drive on lots of hills?  Use engine braking and clutch slippage to slow down?

I think I'd go after the actuating mechanism in/under the left cover.   Clean, lube, inspect etc.  Pull out the actuating/ clutch lifter rod that traverses the trans, and check for grooves.  There is also a steel ball for one end of that rod.  Can't remember which end it goes on.  Inspect that for wear/existence, too.  Reassemble, adjust, check operation.
Cheers,

Do everything TwoTired said!!
I also had sticky clutch problems on my 73 500, the easy cure was
to remove the pack and soak the fiber plates in clean gasoline for about 1\2 hour. let them dry and
reinstall. This removes the years of built up, burned on oil. It made a big difference. Also use this
time to carefully inspect the metal plates for warps.

Bikes parked out front mean good chicken-fried steak inside.
