I think someone already started on the wheels.. :o

saw a set in a mag in the last month or two... maybe?? the Horse??.. I think they were CNCd, the sand or beadblasted to make them look cast..

The trees should be forged for strength, not cast.. if not that carve from billet... made by ARCES originally I think.. maybe they still exist?

....................................................................

I should be getting my Ceriani  dirt track fork (not motocross) in the next week or so.. the guy I am getting it from is off to Europe, , maybe he will find out something..

You are so very close and quite right so far. Do you know which model or models?

Quite a few factory rod racers used them.

one OEM manufacturer offered Morris Wheels as an accessory or Option on a few models..
They were used on too many of the HD models to list ,from the Sportster to many of the big twins

754, the Triumph model was the T140 US model.

The spun/polished aluminum solid wheels we talked about last week are PM's. I'm going to have to machine up some spacer/adapers for them to fit Hondas.

I saw the "Kimtab" style mags in the Horse. They still look a little "billet" for my taste, so if Powderman can cast those puppies at an affordable price, I think he's in the driver's seat on this wheel style.

BTW, I have a set of aluminum Cambray wheels like those featured on the prototype Triumph triple at the Earl's Court show back in the day. Mine are for the CB750 and I got them from a guy in England. Different looking wheels.

Powderman, I know 754 is from the Frozen North, and I'm in San Diego. Where are you located?  RR

RR,
I am in North Georgia, my brother who will do the Ceriani stuff is in Palmdale,Ca. The Menani info I got came from Ricky Racer, the american distributor you mentioned no longer carries the Ceriani line and of course Steve Storz is the American distributor for the new larger Cerianis. My brother also collects vintage iron, has a Kawaton, a Norton Manx frame with an H2 Kawasaki 750 motor w/ Kimtabs, a Honda 750, a Triumph 650 Bonneville, a 69 Jag xke, an 80 Ferrari Mondial, a couple 1965 Renault Alpine GT4s, some alfa romeo sport racers of vintage years and a bought new 75 Dodge van and a BMW 540 and a bunch of (to me) crappy Dodge LeBaron Turbos. He is an art director in L.A.

Cool, that's what they are! (no clue actually)

I'm trying to get some info too. Can anyone here tell me anything about Yokohama wheels. I've had then a year, and I have 0 search results.

Also reading this post I found no listing of a wheel made by SMAC industries.

The top pic is the Yokohama's, the bottom pic is the SMAC's

Sooooo If I got a set of Hayashi mags....
« Reply #109 on: July 06, 2009, 07:36:16 am »
I should go get them out of the scrap pile?

I just got a one owner vintage modified CB750K. Bunch of neat old bits including a set of very nice Hayashi (s).

I guess the build is now going to have mags rather than alloy rims!

Thanks to all for the great info on this thread.

You mean "in Magnesium alloy instead of aluminum alloy" , magnesium IS an alloy also.

Hey Fasturd, could you post a picture of the Hayashi rims.  Are they stamped Street Cycle?  What color?

Thanks!

Front or Rear rim?  Diameter?  Disk or Drum if rear?  I've got rears but could use another front.   ::)  RR

Good luck with it!!

I have a set of Shelby-Dowd on my '76 750F that I bought in 1978.  Does anyone else have them???  For $178 for the pair they were about as cheap as you could get pricewise. The Lester and Morris at the time were far more expensive.

The only complaint I have is I miss the cushion drive for the rear sprocket that the stock setup had.  But I have worked around that...

Hey nice to see another Metro rider.

You should have gotten out there that bike sat on CL for a couple of weeks I didn't go look either because I thought they were Lesters.

But you are really going to kick your self...
Besides the Hayashi wheels:
It has an RC pipe, and in a separate box the guy had taken off the "uncomfortable" foot pegs and put on stockers... The uncomfortable pegs are John Tickle Chrome rearsets In great condition. Nice dual disc conversion and some other cool bits.

It was worth the $650  And the hour drive.

You get to First Thursday ever?

Regards,
Bill
