Greetings from balmy Pittsburgh
« on: December 29, 2008, 02:28:01 PM »
New to the forum and to Hondas but not to motorcycles. My Speed Triple is my primary bike but I was bitten by the old bike bug and want to build a cafe bike. ( I think that the Speed Triple is the modern cafe racer) I bought a 76 CB550 that runs and is complete.
I have been watching this site for awhile before posting and this looks like the best place for advice and great conversation. I hope to learn much.
Thanks
Mike

So, the strategy is to lie to people you are asking for help?

I think I'll be busy going for a ride.

Good luck!

Welcome, Mike. What part of town are you from?  I'm in Jefferson Hills. We have a few local members, but I haven't seen many of them.

Here are some pictures. Yeah, the right side of the tank has some dents, but overall I think it was in pretty decent shape. Keith, what are your thoughts about Valley Cycle in McKeesport?
You have a great high school football team in TJ.
Ben you can have the seat.

Happy New Year

I wish to retract on the seat. I need an original f seat and sadly that one looks like the one I want to replace. :'( But thankyou just the same.

Hi Mike,

I have never heard anything good or bad about Valley Cycle, but I like South Hills Cycle in South Park. I don't think I'll need them for much since I like to do all my own work (with the help of this board). The mechanic at South Hills seems to know all the quirks of our old Honda's. I bought tires from him and had them mounted and balanced.

Happy New Year,
Keith
