Coil on plug conversion
« on: January 04, 2009, 04:10:41 PM »
Something got me thinking. Could I setup my bike to run on CBR coil on plugs, or 4 seperate coils/cylinder?

Each coil on our bikes have two leads for the two cylinders it fires. Could it be possible to separate and use a coil for each cylinder.

I think it can be possible, if you know which color of wire fires what cylinder ;D

Any inputs? I think it would be more reliable and easier to troubleshoot

I have done it on my 2001 Kawasaki ZRX1200R.  Worked great!  No real performance increase, just 1 pound lighter and easier to work on.  Go to ZRXOA.org there is a full write up on how to do it!
