Thanks Raul, got the email. All 24+MBs......... Crap...........a bit to much for the old email program, still trying to un CRASH the system.
Not your fault, just an older Mac issue I'm sure

Dropped off the frame at the powder coaters today. Wife asked for a silver frame so SILVER it will be.
Might be fun working on something a bit different for a change.

Looks great man! Seems that you have polished the aluminium, have left the cylinder and head as it was, and have painted the crankcases and the camshaft housing. Am I wrong? What have you used for the paint? Engine Enamel in a rattle can?

What about the frame? Have you painted yourself?

I have finished my CB350 teardown; I have to start the reassembly one of these days...

Thanks for the nice comments Raul,
Polished side engine covers, cyl head cover, and finished the forks today!
Painted cam base and engine with "Dupli Color" Engine Enamel "Aluminum DE1615" (rattle can). I used it on my 750 engine last year and it worked great! Still holding up well.

Cylinder head went out to a machine shop for valve work and I just kept the rough bead blast finish they had done. Lower head was just cleaned with tooth brushes to remove all old oil and then I hit it with a wire wheel on a drill to get into the fins.

Frame has had a good Cook Off, then sand blasted and powder coated. The frame and all the bits came to $600.00 CDN.

Finished the right side engine cover with wet sand and blood today. Man that's a big cover!!
Results below. waiting on a gasket to button it up and get it into the frame. rebuilt forks already for installation and rear fender ready to go

Can I start sending all my parts your way??? Standing at the buffing wheel for hours.....is not my cup-o-tea. But I do it...cause it looks so good in the end.

I received a gas tank and an alt cover today from "Ken", a member here.
and also received a small gasket I needed to put back on the oil filter widget from "Ohio Cafe Racers"/ another member here!
Thanks again Ken , I spent the afternoon doing this to the cover.......

Foiled again

I had not opened all the powder coated stuff so it would stay in good shape before I needed it. I opened the triple tree last night to do a mock up and look what I noticed.

They mistakenly covered the steering lock mechanism. Glad I have a spare, now I will have to see if they will put it in the next black run and not charge me.

Progress Report:
* Front fork seals done, all polished
* Hammered in the races for the new tapered steering bearings, miss-judged the washer/no washer Assembly. Bad.
Back later with the results of this mishap. Bike "should go fairly quickly after this is sorted, I have most of the parts now to complete project.

The build went well today. Both stands bolted on, cross arm for foot pegs bolted on.
Started looking at the rear fender and signals.

Lools like I need a couple of the large rubber bushings (on the right) in pict and one of the smaller rubber washers that goes into the signal holder. (center) in pict. .......
Anyone have a few spares?

P.S. Can I buy these bolts somewhere? mine are hooped!

Great job!! we're waiting impatiently to see more. No, really. I know that it takes time but, you are to be commended for a great job. I hope you don't mind if I refer back to your 350 when I do one day get going on my 450. I can only imagine the work you have put into polishing those pieces.

Thank you for the encouragement Bill. I just keep chipping away at it. The wife is booked into a March 18th "Learn to ride a motorcycle safely" course and I would like to have it ready for her so she can get right on and go!

I took the 3 front wheel / brake Assemblies I had lying around and made 1 nice one today. After an afternoon of polishing it came out great. I think so anyway. This is a good post to follow if you want to avoid mistakes

Nice job! It will help keep my motivation up for my build. I'm curious waht you're going to do with the rim and the spokes. I have several wheels that need attention and was thinking of just replacing the spokes with new ones. Keep up the good work.

Thanks Cliff, The rim will polish up nice, just a bit of grease on it at this point. Spokes will have to wait for another build.
"Pick your battles" is how I look at it.

Finally figured out how in the hell the camshaft went back in and all back together

I remember a post here where a guy put a bike together in 1 day. Yeah that's going to happen here

I decided to leave the engine mount till tomorrow when the beer is farther away.

Back again

Put together a good wiring harness out of the 3 that I had and have that all hooked up except the headlight bucket. That will have to wait until I get the bucket painted. Rear wheel "sort of polished up" Sanded and painted the tach and speedo. Polished up the yellow fork reflectors, installed new rear foot pegs. I'm going to take both wheels to a shop to have them trued and have new rubber put on them tomorrow. "Can't do everything myself".

I know I am building this bike stock for the wife, but I can see why it might be fun to change things around a bit for a bit more low fast ride. "Next one I suppose"
