The electronics on these bikes will do everything except brush your teeth. There is a big debate about using "rate of acceleration" software. It is basically a way to use traction control while staying with in the rules. It is similar to what Kawasaki uses on the 2009 ZX10. This link is to a street/race 425HP Hayabusa we built for a customer in Tahiti

Have you ridden the new 10? Ridiculous fast. I work for a Kawi dealer. (in my spare time) and get to demo one this week. Imagine 31 whole days of riding on someone else's dollar!!!

Woohoo.

I used to get a demo when I worked in service. These new bikes scare me.

Are you using an ignition retard to build starting line boost?

I just returned my 08 14. Dear god was that a beast of a motorcycle. Probably the best handling and most comfortable "big" bike I have ever been on.

Are you using an ignition retard to build starting line boost?

I used one on a Ducati and it biult boost for about a 1/4 of a second and then it trailed off again. But then again we weren't adjusting the wastegates per their instructions.

That is one way to do it. It is rough on the engine internals. It is a combination of wastegate control, plenum design, tuning and hours of dyno time.

I think when the teams get the bugs ironed out, this will be a good year Kenny with some very quick times being run.
Although I said to watch out for team NLR, another to watch is HTP out of Richmond Va in Pro/True/Real Street. They have a secret weapon on board. ::) ::) ::) ::)

When the hayabusa was still fairly new, one of our regular customers stopped by the machine shop I worked at to show off his bike. It had a pipe and fuel system (electronics?) upgrades, don't remember all but every aftermarket go-fast thing of the time ($$$) was on it.
There were a group of guys that would regularly 'hang out' after hours and watch us work on our dragster stuff, they saw this bike and thought 'big deal, another squid bike, throw big $$$ but how bad can it be?' One of those dorks even said that surely my turbo SOHC could blow that thing away...  :o
My eyes almost bugged out of my head at THAT statement.

When I told them that the busa probably makes more HP stock than my stone age Honda would with 50 pounds of boost, I think they finally started to get the picture.

Airflow and modern electronics are wonderful things...

i could do that. the only reason i used photo bucket was because i was afraid if i compressed it too much the pix might be too small for everyone to fully appreciate my awesome internet find. if i do embed them do you think i should remove the current pix so as not to burden our system?

OK, but this not only makes sense but also is no fun and goes completely against my impulsive nature to post pix on a whim.

Just a tip.
On my Windows (XP) internet explorer on the right bottom corner there is a magnifying glass with a plus sign on the lens and you click on the down arrow and you can change the Zoom level from 100% being normal, in steps up to 400%.  I can read Ecosse's scan with no problems.

Larry Welchs bike..
think it ran around 200 but they would not recognize it for a record as it was not wheel driven..

I think they called him "Rocket Man"
