When the hayabusa was still fairly new, one of our regular customers stopped by the machine shop I worked at to show off his bike. It had a pipe and fuel system (electronics?) upgrades, don't remember all but every aftermarket go-fast thing of the time ($$$) was on it.
There were a group of guys that would regularly 'hang out' after hours and watch us work on our dragster stuff, they saw this bike and thought 'big deal, another squid bike, throw big $$$ but how bad can it be?' One of those dorks even said that surely my turbo SOHC could blow that thing away...
My eyes almost bugged out of my head at THAT statement.
When I told them that the busa probably makes more HP stock than my stone age Honda would with 50 pounds of boost, I think they finally started to get the picture.
Airflow and modern electronics are wonderful things...
