So I finally got a name for my cb550, Abigail. She's wanting me all to herself so its well suited. I had to start a new thread since the acquisition of a proper name. Today I will show you phase one of the tank resto with a little electrolytic rust removal.

Heres a test anode. I only had it in the tank for about 5 minutes and you can clearly see where it was taped off. Very cool to see in person how it works!

Ok 48hrs in and the tank looks great! The inside it almost completely clean other than the surface rust from the water evaporating.

Now i have to weld fill a spot that had not just a dent but a crease as well. Then off to the powder coater along with my completely disassembled carbs.

Got my carbs back together thanks to the 20$ o ring kit from harbor freight. Only problem is the choke linkage while smooth is a bit tight. The springs don't seem strong enough to pull the choke open. If it was lever operated like the older cbs Id be golden. Regardless no air leaks here.
