The 18 inch is standard and you see a lot of conversions where guys put on the 16 inch "Harley" tire.

Well both are standard, the 18s up to K7 or so, then the 17s. Must have bought an older parts bike.

I'm a little confused as to your holdings, but the pre 76 were 18s, 77-78 were 17s and the 16s are owner conversions available since the beginning.

Thanks for the info, did not know 77-78 had 17 inch tires. Have not owned one of those years yet, usually look for 76 or older.

My '78 F3 750 came with an 18-inch Comstar.

The 69-76 K had 18. The 77/78 k had 17. The 77/78 F had 18 inch comstars. I think the A was the same as the f. The only years I am unsure of are the 75/76 F.

I think the comstars throw people off to the fact that the 77-78 F models are SOHC cb750's. 4-1 pipes and different tank/seat stylings make even the 75-76 F model a oft forgotten member of the family. Wave that SuperSport flag high and proud Patrick ;) ;D

The 69-76 K had 18. The 77/78 k had 17. The 77/78 F had 18 inch comstars. I think the A was the same as the f. The only years I am unsure of are the 75/76 F.

75/76 F has 19F/18R spoke wheels like the K model, only disc brake on rear instead of drum. Pretty sure the A has a 17R Comstar(Ughh) :)
Give me..a frame to build a bike on, and my imagination will build upon that frame

Do they? I thought the A was the same as the f? Maybe not, it was an odd duckling.

Drum brake in the rear, so more like the K. Apparently the Comstar was only on the '78 model. Looks like 17R on all three years of A model production though. I could be mistaken since I'm just spoutin' what I "think" I know about'em ;) :)
