Topic: 19" Invader mag with a mini drum, want to make it for a disk brake system

Hello I want to make this mini drum Invader fit a disk brake system. Any ideas on how to do this? I posted on the wanted board for a trade but I am willing to make this one fit if I can. Thanks Kyler

...OK, I'll bite...this would take considerable fab work.  First off is the hub of the Invader mag large enough to match up to the mounting holes on a stock 750 disk?  The other option is an aftermarket disk, or just a disk off another bike that matches up to the hub OK.  If you can't find a disk that matches up you could fab mounts that weld to the hub of the mag.  Now the problem is lets say you match a disk up and can mount it (this assumes you have the skill and equpment to mount it properly and evenly).  There is serious pressure to the hub when the brake is applied.  The wheel was not designed for that type of pressure...not to mention its very tiny.  Bottom line I would thnk its not a very good idea.  Even if you have the skill to mount it properly I would have safety issues with that kind of pressure/force being applyed to the body of a hub that was not designed for said application.

I agree with RaDigga about pressure being the problem. That wheel was never built/created to handle the amount of pressure
that , when mounted , would undergo.

Though I am ALL about form over function , this might end up being a serious safety issue...

Maybe I will stick to trying to trade for one made for the disk brakes ....I also want to stay with the speedo

I have an alloy wheel on my 400 I had to get the hub plates machined to fit both the disc and speedo drive

Drum brake invaiders are a lot harder to fidn than disc brake ones. I know for harleys there is a company that makes disc brake front ones new (chica uses them on the west coast for his bikes)  Do you know if your invaider is actually for a honda or for a harley? honda invaiders are much rarer than harley invaiders.

 I imagine it would fetch a hefty price on ebay and you copuld then buy a disc brake invaider. Try posting your trade request on the honda chopper board as there are guys on there always looking for minibrake invaiders and maybe someone has a disc brake one to trade.

This one is for a Honda I also have the 16" drum Brake rear wheel to match. Yes your right I was told the mini drum is more rare and in more demand but not in this case I NEED A DISK ONE Thanks Kyler

Chica Custom Cycles makes new invader wheels for American V-Twin bikes.
They are made for bikes running a 1'' axle , but that can be adapted to these bikes I am sure.
Not the cheapest , but they are chrome , amd made with great quality.
