Topic: hydraulic clutch on CB750

Need to know if Honda came out with an early bike with hydraulic clutch. I'm looking for a clutch master to match early CB750's brake master cylinder. We already have the slave all figured out and mounted on our project bike, Trixie Special, but we are looking for an identical to the stock brake master cylinder but inverted for clutch side. Brembo has a set for the brake and clutch master cylinders but I kinda like the look of the stock brake master cylinder with the aluminum round cup built-in and didnt want to go a modern look or even a miss match look. So if there's a Honda guru out there, let me know if that bike exist and let me know what bike and what model. Thanks in advance

Ohh if you are going to ask why convert it to hydraulic, simply because we want something different .

i was going to try the same thing but use a remote master cylinder off a GSXR so i could hide it to retain the standard looks...   let us know how you do it, plenty of pics please.

Most of the newer Hydralic clutches use the newer style (bolted on cap) master cylinder. I have yet to see a left side clutch master cylinder that would match the stock CB round style master cylinder.
 I used a Magura hydraulic clutch system on mine and it fits nicely under the stock covers.

Well it doesn't seem like it'd be too tough to make one as a one-off, as long as you have enough old m/c's lying around.  Just cut, weld, file and polish.

Come on Benjie, we know you have the skills!   Time is another issue altogether though.   

I could give it a shot if you need me to....I've got two spare m/c's somewhere from a 77A and a 78K, they should be a good matched set....

The AP type MC,s were mentioned on here, they have l&r.

They look a lot like Honda except ribs running vertical on the body, nowe I have wondered.. maybe the Honda lid will fit?/ If so you could then grind off the sides and it would look a lot like the stock Honda ones.

I have seen a guy that welded up the 70,s HD MC to make a left version, but it is a lot of work.. did I mention it was a lot of work

 The hydraulic slave cylinder is self adjusting. The clutch push rod (the seperate barrell shaped peice in picture) is also adjustable for initial set up. This set up has been on the bike for over a year and I have yet to need to re adjust the push rod for wear, once the initial set up adjustment was done.
I put alot of thought into these types of mods before I start on them at all. Too much adjustment is a lot better than not quite enough.

yeah i was thinking of just cutting the alloy canister off the stock brake master cylinder, fill in the holes, then TIG weld it on the other side and drill the hole for the drain. And of course hone the cylinder. I was hoping that Honda came up with an early bike with a hydraulic clutch and save us the work. Ohh well, i guess we'll just try it then. I'll let you guys know how it work out.
