master cylinder question for 350f
« on: January 10, 2009, 03:54:07 PM »
I need to rebuild my master cylinder on my 72 cb350f and have a couple options.
The more expensive route is to buy all the OEM parts seperately to make up the rebuild kit.
For about half the price I can get a Master cylinder rebuild kit.
Does anyone have experience with the kits you can buy?
I just want to be sure that if I buy the rebuild kit that it is gonna hold up and that all
the parts will fit nicely.
If anyone has experience with any of these kits and can point me in the right direction,
I would really appreciate it.
Thanks alot

I bought the rebiuild kit from SCI. I wouldn't recommend this particular kit because I had to disassemble my master cylinder to find that it was leaking due to slag type deposits found on the piston. That being said, I'm sure you wouold be just fine buying an aftermarket kit such as one from K&L. I imagine it would be a lot cheaper than genuine honda parts and you wouldn't be giving anything up performance-wise.

The piston from my kit:
