I really like this cx model,i don't know if it's just a canadian model.?

That looks like the 650turbo. Dad had a gl500. Was a nice bike considering I dont like "dressers".

Yes this one,and no this model don't have turbo.If i did not have my k4,i would buy this bike.

Yea didnt see anything that might translate to turbo. But it does look a bunch like the turbo 650.

The cx650E (euro) model is nearly the same as the cx650TC (turbo) model in appearance... the most distinctive difference is the Turbo model actually has TURBO in big letters on the mufflers.

Ok so I bumping this back up to ask for advice from anyone who has or currently owns a CX500. I Have a 1980 so it has the more "bulbous" tank (tear drop whatever) and don't really have the coin right now to fully cafe it. (Plus the wife is actually talking about letting me take her out for a spin on it hates my CBR!). Anyways, so a new tank is out of the question but I hate the look of the huge bars. I would like something a little lower or sleeker. Since it won't be cafed I can't really see going for clubmans or drags. Anybody have some reasonable options that would be sort of a mid point between the 2 extremes???

If you had pics that would be even better....

Oh and I have posted the same question over at Chopper Charles but the traffic here is definitely a little more brisk!!

Well I planned on the cafe route for mine. Normally I don't like, or do clubmans on anything. Generally clubmans suck. The interesting thing about the CX is the seat height. Pull off the stock seat, now just sit on the frame. Extremely low. I like. Now I just happen to have a set of clubmans, because I pulled them off the last cafe project because I hated them. Anyway I mounted them up on the CX, then sat on the bike. I think I like it.

The CX instantly takes on a whole new look with low bars compared to those high pulled back stock bars. I would think any super bike bar would do you good.

Bore one out with hotter cams and ported heads..... Then take it to the track. Thing wants to laydown with just gas applied. Forget that look right push right lean right crap....

More like look right push right, lean left to keep from kissing the apex,change pants in pit.

Nothing against them.... aside from the cafe'd look... I cannot seem to find a good style for them. "Choppers" are out, bagger looks alien, digger or bobber seems disproportionate (spell that right?), and standard looks like a child's toy.

And the turbo'd version..... Looks like the plastic molder was drunk when he designed the panels.

Then again.... I like the look of moving parts and the like.

Nice looking bikes at the beginning of the thread. I think I would go with super bike bars though.

Well it wasn't quite warm enough to ride yesterday but for the first time in a long time it was warm enough to wrench...so I tore into the CX. It had a really rough idle when I last had it running. Yanked the carbs and gave them a thorough cleaning. Checked the plugs and they were BLACK! I have no idea how much difference it will have made as I figured there was no point in putting gas into freashly cleaned carbs only to have them sitting for a few more months until it is warm enough to ride. I do have to figure out some sort of inline filter though as there were some chunks in the float bowl when I drained them. I hate inline filters but I don't think I have a choice right now.

We'll see how much time and energy I have before riding season and if I can swing it I will probably give the old tank a rinse out with some acid to clean it up some...I still also have to figure out what bars I am going to go with.

Very Nice Blue CX.. Is that just a pic you found or do you have some knowledge of that bike? I would certainly ask about the exhaust pipe....
