Yeah.....now I remember. I used to go to big parties with live music back in the 70's on Palomeres. Never been there on a bike but 1000's of times on Niles Canyon.

OK so I haven't got anything exciting to put in here, we went for a ride and Jaffa decided to get her hair done! Boring..so I went walkabout and shot some wharf scenes and the odd gratuitous photo of my self in the hairdressers mirror. ;D
On the up side we parked for lunch at a wharf side cafe and the only parks available were in with two elderly Triumphs a very modern rice rocket and a beautiful CB750 (K2 I think) and as we ate lunch the guys drifted over to check out our rides, small community the riders of NZ so we are a pretty friendly bunch. I offered to swap "Blondie" for the guy's 750 but he reckoned there wouldn't be much difference, they did love the old cop bike. Even got chatting to the waiter, young chap looking for a bike, was thinking of a CBR250 so I suggested my son's now ready for sale FZR250...he looked like a nice young chap so maybe I'll talk him out of it as those FZR's seem to be trouble at every turn. ;)

I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

Both my bikes on hold, ride em anyway, fingers to the govy and their unfair tax on bikes. It's only a $200 fine for no reg and it costs $600+ to reg my bike so I figure I have 3 pull-ups by cops before I'm losing here. ;D
Also chances of being stopped by cops is very very small, they don't like pulling up bikes as they tend to take off and pursuit of bikes is frowned upon by their bosses (can't say where that info came from) ;)

Skyline is a pretty popular road for bikers up here, headed west one day and instead of turning right and heading down the hill at Rocky Point rd (for those that know the area) decided to take Dixie Mountain rd. About a mile after the Rocky Point intersection, it turns to gravel, then about 5 miles of sweet gravel twisties down the hill into Scappoose. It was a beautiful day, but just a little too hazy to get good pics of the 4 visible snowcapped mountains in the distance. As luck would have it, there was a massive train wreck down below, so there was more traffic than usual, although I only got passed by a kid on a dirt bike and a guy in a 4x4 while on the gravel. Down toward the bottom, it turns into Dutch Canyon rd, and skirts a sweet little farm valley. I was cruising along checking out the scenery when I noticed a redtail hawk cruising about eye level with me about 100 feet away. We caught each others eye, nodded to each other, and cruised on..it was awesome. Didn't get his pic tho...I usually keep both hands on the bars in the gravel.
