Went for a ride yesterday morning down the finger lakes and stopped along Seneca Lake.

Was there a few years ago, love that area.
Hiked the Glen and my brother raced at Watkins Glen [SCCA]

Yea, it's a pretty area.  The only drawback to living here with a bike is the roads are more or less in grid pattern.  I miss the twisting, winding roads of the Hudson Valley and Adirondacks.  Still to busy with work to take long road trips.  Perhaps when I retire.  I'll need to figure out some padding for the back side for long trips.  My butt gets sore on longer rides (90 min or more)  I have either lost mass in my ass or the foam in the seat is hard after 43 years.

Too hard tire pressure is not ass frendly either :)
I use the Honda numbers written on the label on rear fender. 2.1 BAR front, 2.4 BAR rear,  for high speed  and can leak some before refill.

My Ikons on my CB750 K2 has no progressive springs (more CB750 stock look), they felt too soft at initiated riding on nice country roads with small bumps so I changed damping from 2 to 3. Changed back to 2 for a smoother ride. My ass complained after +1 hour ride. Possible to set in steps between 2-3.

My K6 that has Ikons too, has the version with progressive springs, damping 2 work fine in higher speeds. This damper is the better one as I have noticed. Better action but still not too hard.
My K2 has aftermarket seat replica, my K6 NOS Honda. K2 seat a little bit harder.

I'll try lowering my tire pressure.  I run both front and rear up at 40 psi.  (yea, it's a stiff ride) it may help with bumps but I think the main problem is the foam in the seat is much stiffer than I remember and my backside has lost muscle mass in the last 40 years.  I keep joking to my wife that I should get a whoopie cushion for me to sit on.  I could also get baggy pants that come up over my navel to complete the look!  LOL

it's been getting drier here and with august approaching it looks to get even drier.  although yesterday's last 2 miles were a downpour.  something got wet, plugs, wires or the like.  had to push it almost the last 2 blocks, up hill.  50 feet from the driveway i was able to start it and limp it to the carport around back.

Took my CB750K2 out yesterday to Cooks Falls, NY, where my grandfather and grandmother and dad are interred. About 420 miles all together. In the background is the famed Beaverkill River. This is where I grew up.

Nice 240 mile round trip to Galilee, Narraganset RI today. No traffic at all going down or coming back - all quiet backroads and a few dirt roads through State forests

Bike parking outside George’s resteraunt, Galilee, RI

Fish and chips for lunch (fresh flounder)

Great views :)

Another carb tuning ride. This time with my K6.
Fuel screw setting. Started from 1 turn out, adjusted 1/4 steps until 2 (during 30 km ride) that seems to be OK. It need some more road. Less is not the option.
I'll see on the return to home. Now at the restaurant eating in the sunshine :)

Yes, my special tool to Mikuni TMR fuel screws.
I have a longer for my K2 with stock carbs.

It's a must to have a longer ride to test different fuel screw or air screw settings.
Good wheather, nice country roads and a restaurant in a small village made the 80 km ride to a joy.
I had to keep 6000rpm on my way home since my battery supervision flashed red, battery too low.
I had used the starter just before when checking compression on all 4. My battery extra small, 11 Ah to give space for Hondaman ign module on top of it.

So a longer tour revving under 4000rpm was not popular with not fully charged battery.

That's a good looking meal Per, maybe we should start a food thread? "What did you eat on your ride today?" Too cold to ride on Tuesday, I had to fast for 12 hours before my regular 3 monthly blood test so was famished, and stopped at a restaurant on my way back to work to have breakfast. I can only eat tiny amounts of food now, but I wanted to try the full breakfast anyway, so, ordered the "Full Breakfast".

Was magnificent, but only ate around 25%. Was expensive, but worth every cent......... ;D
