Thanks guys. I lot of heart blood was spilled building this one.

BTW, it also moves fast. Doing the Ton plus another 25 1/2 mph for safety margin (GPS).

At work with a buddy's VS1400 that I did some top end work for him over the winter. What a terrible design, basically disassemble the entire bike to pull the engine, carbs are inaccessible and everything is in the way of everything else. Caught him up on a number of maintenance and wear items, and drilled smog plugs to adjust idle mixture, runs much better now. We were going to jet it but I didn't want to try to figure out a mismatched set of side draft and down draft carbs on an bike I'm not familiar with and had never rode at the time.

So I took a ride with him for the first time after work yesterday, he couldn't keep up, said he had no idea a "little" 750 was so fast. Funny, I thought I was taking it easy so he could keep up on that cruiser.

Lots of people do not know how to take corners fast and slow down way too much for corners. Teach them how to enter and brake and similar things and they can do a better job keeping up. I have a twisty curvy road I go through everytime I go into Marana or Tucson and it is amusing how many are close on my bumper in the car and yet way back in the rear view mirror after a few corners. Their tires or their knowledge do not let them take the curves at the speeds I will.
Gotta feed the gforce junky inside me...

RAF122S, indeed. There are some guys on the weekly vintage ride on modern cruisers that keep up pretty well without too much rubber band effect. My buddy at work has only been riding a few years and rarely with others, so I've given him a few pointers and hope seeing how I take corners will help. He had the original tires, I was ragging on him when I noticed his tires were almost old enough to drink. He thought they were fine since they had tread, but commented the new tires felt much better.

I did suggest when he started riding that a 1400 cruiser was not an ideal first bike. After one ride with me he wants an old Jap bike for a second bike at least, something lighter that handles better.

I had a really nice circuit around Cotter when I was living in Canberra mate, used to love flogging my VFR750 and BMW R1100GS around there in the evening after work, only worry was some very big 'Roo's. ;D

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

A cool 200 km long ride direct after work. Max +9C when started, +6C when back home. Global warming can't stop me! ;D

A carb whisper ride. Another head and slightly higher compression need adjustments.

No food for me, refreshments served to my bike!

Thanks for the nice words about my bike. I'll tell it ;D

Good to work from home. I plan to step down one size on Pilot jets.

I do not know how the warmer climate is handled in other countries.
Here shunks of snow and ice placed beside the road to cool down the climate. It seems to work. ;)

Rode my recently rebuilt CB750K2 400 miles to visit my Ma on the weekend, and stopped beside the street sign, named after my dad, on the way back to Melbourne. ;D

Dad was mad on military aircraft David, he (only just) served in the Airforce in 1945 when he turned 18, but started the local Aero Club (and became control line state champion before RC) Was a life member of the Lions Club and organised an art show every year, wrote a book (still in publication) about the local Aerodrome, used in WW2 as a Bomber Base, was an aviation artist who had his paintings and drawings displayed at the Australian War Memorial, was a volunteer fire fighter in his younger days, did aviation art work for two international military aviation magazines, did “Meals on Wheels” right up into his 80’s, organised the towns 100th anniversary parade and celebrations in the 60’s, he painted the sets for the local theatre group productions, worked on military aircraft restoration at the Australian War Memorial ( I have a piece of Baron Von Richtofen’s aircraft fabric, as well as a piece from Herman Goering’s plane, he was also a member if the Red Baron’s “Flying Circus” in WW1) God, the list goes on and on.

His only major fault in my humble opinion was that he didn’t have any interest in motorcycles, especially Japanese ones. Luckily both my grandfathers loved bikes. ;D
