Here's my 750...  i think it's more in the road than on the road, does that count?

LOL That is literally "on the road", but to qualify as a bike it needs wheels. ;)
Don't fix it if it ain't broke!

Here's my wife's 1982 CB 650SC Nighthawk on the road in a couple of recent fundraiser rallies that we took part in. Sadly she is wanting to sell the bike and upgrade to a newer one some day (after it's 80 % restored).  :-[

Found this bike in completely stock condition in Feb. 08. Paid over twice what my new one cost 30 years ago. Am trying to re-create the look of the late 70's Drag Bike styling.More later. 4-2-10 It ain't stock any more and I have no idea what I am trying to create !

+1 on the 400 pipes.  Honda designers went out on a limb, I think,  but hit a home run, there's nothing out there that looks as cool. IMHO  :D :D

why didnt they do that with bigger bikes? do you think it had to do with the work ability of the pipes at larger sizes? or was it in the style dept?

The CB550 F model came with headers similar to those. I think they are the most beautiful headers as well... too bad it makes the left side of the bike look so empty.   >:(

Yep! The placard on the front fender said it's a 1951. Here's another shot of it that I took on an earlier Saturday.

how about out on a bridge?

Historic Name:Hanover Bridge
Mn/DOT Bridge Number: Bridge No. 92366
Bridge Type: Pratt through truss

County: Wright/Hennepin
City/Township: Hanover (Wright) and Hassan Twp. (Hennepin)
Crossing: Crow River between Hanover (Wright) and Hassen Twp. (Hennepin)

Engineer:
Contractor: Morse Bridge Company, Youngstown, Ohio
Year Built: 1885
Overall Length: 231 feet
Overall Width: 15.5 feet

Adapted from National Register of Historic Places nomination and information provided by Mary Coons of the Hanover Historical Society. The Hanover Bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Summary of Historic Significance
The Hanover Bridge is a single lane, single-span, pin-connected Pratt through truss of metal construction with a timber floor. It is a well preserved example of a bridge type once common in the region. It serves the community as a pedestrian bridge today.

The bridge carried traffic until December 1966. Due to its weight limit, anyone growing up in Hanover during that time remembers how the school bus would stop at one end, let the students off to walk across the bridge, then slowly creep across to pick them up at the opposite end before continuing on its way. Vehicular traffic which formerly passed over the bridge now passes over a concrete bridge 1500 feet to the west.
