More from the urban road.
On Nicollet Island in the Mississippi River downtown Minneapolis.

Good looking 750 that you have there.  It was a nice shot to get the passing train in the picture as well.  Looks like some interesting roads to ride around on, even being "downtown".

Funny thing about the first picture.  That was the end of the train as it was pulling that engine backwards.  Just a few minutes later this one came through going the "right" direction. ;D

Geez Steve, youse guyz shure has sum purdy clean loco's up there in minnieappleass... ;) ;D

I hit the Pismo Derelicts Saturday car and bike get together at the do-nut shop this morning.

The guy rode this Excelsior in but he got there before I did  so I didn't get to see or hear it run. I didn't get to talk to the owner but it looks like he rides it some as the gas lights have been converted to electric.

After I left the do-nut shop I swung by San Luis Bay.

Then on the way home i stopped by the Rock and Roll Diner in Oceano just to take a picture.

Great weather and a great ride

That bike brings a smile to my face every time I see it Bob.  Once, again, great work!

I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

Wife out of town and on my own for supper.  Cool vintage Arby's sign on Lake Street.  This place has been here as long as I can remember and I came to the city in 1976.

Hmmmm A large neon sign lit up at night. ;D
Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

Srust , its right off Shepard Rd. and Randolf Ave, along the Mississippi , I think it might be the old power plant, its right up the road from the new and improved power plant that sits under the Smith ave. high bridge.

How cool is that!? It's been ages since I've seen one of those old neon Arbys signs. I miss the age of neon when signs were cool and artistic and not just a piece of backlit plastic junk...  :'(

I like it better at night. ;D  The building used to be cool old style too but they eventually replaced it with that nondescript box.  At least they had the sense to keep the sign.  Neat Holiday Inn shot Schmthaus.

Took a nice long ride in and around the city today.  Beautiful weather.

First pic....My 550 with Lucas Oil Stadium in the background...

Second pic....my bike isn't in this, but I rode by the Speedway to check out the main gate where a temporary memorial to Dan Wheldon has been set up.  I stopped by to pay my respects.

I went for a ride today to Solvang, a Danish town about 25 miles from Lompoc. There is a motorcycle museum there that I had not been to before. All of the bikes in there are owned by one man whom I am told is a nuclear physicist that invented something that made him enough money to collect as he chooses and he chooses pretty good. Here's a link to the pictures that I took.http://s1122.photobucket.com/albums/l538/bob3050/Solvang%20Motorcycle%20Museum/
His collection is quite varied with a few things that I've never seen before. Like this one with a 5 cylinder radial mounted in the front wheel. As if that wasn't strange enough the crankshaft mounts solidly to the fork and the engine rotates around it!

Quite a place and a fun ride too.

Love that Crocker, not to mention THE Vincent from the picture with Rollie Free doing his Superman impression at the flats.  I can't imagine what that would go for if he were to sell it.
