At Twinline in Seattle for BrandEns dyno tune of his 836.  Jeff at Twinline and DoctorD know there stuff and did a great job dialing it in.  I will be taking my 915 there for tune in the near future.

Thanks fellas,

It's sunny here a lot, that's why the corn grow so tall!  Rains a lot too, mostly at night though.

Very nice bike!  Judging by the bluing of the pipes at the head, I'm guessing they aren't baffled.  And will prolly need exhaust valves soon too.  Hard to say as its difficult to tell the quality of the pipe chrome from a photo.
Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

Pipes are baffled, not too loud at all.  If you look really closely, the pipes expand out about 1/2 inch right after they turn to run parallel with the ground.  Long baffles run inside each.  I can easily hear tunes through my SENA at highway speeds.

They are not double-walled pipes, so the bluing is normal and way less than on some other air-cooled bikes.

Runs good for a 40-year-old bike.  Hondaman ignition, 520 chain conversion, Hagon suspension on both ends, fresh carburetor cleaning and updating of o-rings etc..., returned to stock front end, leak-free '71 tank freshly updated, new tires and tubes, new cables, rebuilt front brake caliper and master cylinder, new fuel lines and petcock internals, bars, mirrors, grips, and on and on...

First-kick starter most of the time.  A lot more could be done, but it's now at the stage where I can have confidence in it and ride wherever.

Thanks for the comments--really appreciate the feedback.

All the best,

Shane

I really hadn't  thought about it, but your right nccb. Lately I've been out and about on the KO a lot more than on my K6. I'll see if I can do something about that. My K6 is really a good bike I didn't realize I was neglecting it. Shame on me  ::) ::)

Great on the roads shot Dhall! That bike fits you like a glove!! Very nice. The bike just looks fast! Glad to see you getting out.
Cheers
Andy
Thanks Andy. I agree with your statement about the bike just looks fast. I said something similar last year after I saw a picture I had took of my new KO strapped down on the trailer to bring it home.

Do you prefer the lower bars on the KO to the stock ones on the K6 ?

The way the bikes are right now, having a new seat and higher bars the K6 is my choice for being more comfortable on riding any distance. It just goes down the road so good. On the other hand the KO has the original 42 year old ducktail seat so the foam is just about shot so it gets a little hard and the lower bars for some reason makes my right shoulder cramp up a little bit after not to many miles. But I feel more confident going in turns at speed with the KO. Just feels like I got more control with the lower bars. I guess you could say the K6 is the cruiser and not quite as nimble as the sporty KO.

Very cool photo! You need one with both of you in it next time - that will be the mantlepiece shot!

Both good looking bikes.

Dhall,
Those Bars you have on the KO..are they K&N Superbike bars ? I had a pr. on my GS1100E and they were low w/ plenty of countersteering leverage.

Have no idea. These bars were already on it when I got it last year. I like them and I think they look good on the KO, but just not as comfortable as he factory bars on my K6.

those look like super bike bars... i just ordered some from cycle x... i had a set on the k8 and loved them.. on long trips you can feel the forward lean a little bit... but they give a sporty feel to the handling and look of the bike, without  quite being clubmans or clip ons... the stock ones are perfect.... but i digress
heres some pics of the k8 i just sold... and one of the KO i had them on also (sold as well)

Superbike bars are my favorite!

dhall, I wish my dad would start riding with me. I left him my r75/6 while I'm in Oz so maybe he'll get back into it by the time I come back to the states. So far he has only started it. He better get to riding it soon. I've got a lot friends who really wanted me to leave it with them.
