I always forget to take a camera when we're out on a ride. Here's one from Mosport last weekend though, shorter ride, but always fun.  ;D

7000km tour last summer.  quick stop at the salt flats in 46 degree C.  What a tour!!!

Wow, you did 7,000km on that seat?  My bike is only recently on the road, with a similar seat. (minimal padding).  I'm still tuning and working out the bugs, but I'm worried about the comfort level of the seat!  Do those rear sets help make it more comfortable on your, um, "rear"?

Great pic.  I'd love to see the salt flats in person some day.

We had a mini cold front roll in tonight, got down to about 78 degrees.  Just found out there is a great meet up on Tuesday nights at Doc's Motorworks, a motorsports bar here in Austin so I rode over and checked it out.  Few cool bikes and some really great people.

this was one of the two Commando's to show up

i know and ride with three guys who have commandos, one is a jeweller and im not kidding his looks like its just been made, anything and everything is polished and clean, its no show pony though he rides it,his is kick only,i mock him and as i unfold my kicker lever with my boot i also hit the start button with out actually depressing the lever, ive gotten some funny looks from bystanders doing that after theyve watched him kick his two or three times to start it.

That's a real beauty.  The other Norton there was really nice, it was just wedged between to late model Triumphs and I couldn't get a decent shot of it.  Last night was my first M/C event here and I gotta say the vintage bike community here is pretty laid back. Good guys all around.

That's a real beauty you've got there Mike.  I've seen it on here before - I've been meaning to comment.  Great work.

Thanks!  It got a great response last night, it's always nice to get positive feedback. You design something on paper and then try to execute it, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.  This time I got lucky and it came off pretty much like I wanted.

I spent last Wednesday thru Sunday at Laguna Seca and Monterey to take in some of the vintage car events that happen there in August every year. Due to my limited budget I packed all my groceries and gear in my pick-up and trailered my bike and stayed at Motel 6 in Salinas. After I arrived I used the bike to run around to see everything that I could. On Wednesday I rode to the Mecum auction at Del Monte golf course and checked out all the vehicles for sale. Thursday I went out on Hwy 1 to watch all the classic cars that participate in the Pebble Beach Tour. Friday, Saturday and Sunday I spent at the track watching all the vintage races. Took lots of pictures and had a great time.

Bob, is that the Bixby Creek Bridge? What an ICON. "Then Came Bronson" and all that. Your bike is so photogenic. Can't wait to get mine on the road and compete for some camera shots!

Excellent day for a ride but I have to go to work.   This pic is at work.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

I'm trying to put my photobucket link here so I hope it works. If it does you will see that the first 700 or so pictures are of this last week at Laguna Seca and Monterey

I took my nephew with me on Saturday for a nice 150 miler. It was his first ever MC ride and he was saddle sore but smiling when we finished. I loaned him my copy of Motorcyclist "Motorcycle of the Century" issue so he could learn a bit about his ride.
We went from Wixom to Whitmore Lake, Strawberry Lake, Hudson Mills, Hell, Gregory, Stockbridge, Waterloo, Chelsea, Dexter, Ann Arbor, South Lyon and back to Wixom....phew!
The photo is at the party store in Waterloo, and it has a mural/map showing the many good MC roads in the vicinity.

Took my family on a 8 day vacation to Bass Lake in the Sierras near the south gate of Yosemite. I wanted to ride my 550 up there because it truly is God's country, but my wife wanted me to drive one of the cars we took. Solution: a U-Haul motorcycle trailer at 15 bucks per day. Worked out great- I avoided a 7 hour ride in brutal heat on boring busy freeways, but I had the bike to ride to my heart's content in the mountains. I've ridden through Yosemite several times in the past, but having the bike there for the whole week let me explore some amazing back roads and the natural beauty of the area, including some of the old gold mining towns that dot the nearby foothills. The roads are narrow, twisty, and more fun than an amusement park roller coaster. Tremendous changes in elevation and incredible vistas. Ecstasy for me the entire week. Can't wait to do it again next year.

Went for a ride through the hills to a rally and someone was taking photos near chain of ponds in Adelaide, he sent me these because he recognized my bike from the VJMC rally I had just come from.
