In celebration of Columbus Day i took the old lady for a ride.

Trying out our new "adventure pack" in (preparation to moto camping) we rode through some twisties, over a mountain, more twisties and ended up in Moss Landing once again. great day for a ride. saw some dolphins (i like to think they were sharks), crazy wild chickens and stopped off at Ohlone Indian Historical Park site, kinda neat. 150miles + pilon + half packed "adventure pack" and 80mph. i think this might work.

Doesn't need cleaning. That's from sunlight diffusing off the lens. Happens a lot with cell phone photos.

Nice to see somebody on here from the big apple, my birthplace and longtime home. Much better riding out here in SoCal, though.

its finger grease and filth causing the light to diffuse...i clean my phone camera lense and it gets rid of that effect

I went to the Central Coast Classic Motorcycle Club's bike show in San Luis Obispo today. The competition in the show was really outstanding. I didn't win anything but i had a great time and saw a lot of terrific machines. There was only one other SOHC/4 besides mine in the show. If you look close you can see my bike in the background about two bikes down the row. I was taking so many pictures that I forgot to take any of my own bike.

There were actually more SOHC/4's in the parking lot than in the show. I'm pretty sure I recognize Mooshie's 550.

This CB750was parked next to her.

And this CB750 was across the lot.

Did about 70 chilly miles around Boston's north shore today.....Gloucester, Annisquam, and Rockport. Beautiful day.

Here's a shot near Rockport. I went a little crazy playing around with filters.

Yeah it was pretty cold -rode the 750 K4 with another forum member on his CB550 up to NH from Boston for a 160 mile round trip. Temp started off at 32F but by 4.30pm it was a balmy 54F

Thanks for the nice words guys, but trust me, there's a lot of digital manipulation in that shot! Even lovely Rockport doesn't have a sky that color

Andy: Out of curiosity, what do you use to keep your hands warm in that temp range? Most of my trip yesterday was around 50, but even at that temp my fingers were getting pretty chilly. Admittedly my gloves are nothing special. Fairly thick leather, but not lined. The trip had me thinking about heated gloves or grips. But I wonder if a better insulated pair of gloves would be good enough for 32-50 degrees (F) on the highway.

Unfaired CB750K4:

Going there (32F) - I used Scott Goretex snowmobile/motorcycle gloves with heated grips on "High" setting. The heated grips are what make the biggest difference at this temperature. If just using the gloves on their own then your hands will eventually get cold at anything less than 40F (had plenty of experience with this with all kinds of winter gloves". Below 40F you need some kind of heated gear - grips or gloves for riding more than 1 hr at highway speeds. Heated packets also help on the back of the glove if no heated gear but fingertips usually go cold.

On the way back when it was 50F (highway speeds) I used my RevIT gloves which claim to have insulation that will match your body temp and you wont go colder than this. No heated grips required for me at this temp. The RevIt gloves are great for anything over 45F but no below it (cold hands). They have good dexterity unlike the Scott gloves.

Keeping the core warm is 90% of it so a thermal layer is essential and a jacket that dosent let air in.
