Rode from Long Beach to Monterey, CA last weekend. Went through a bit of the central valley on hwy 58.  It was a blast.
I didn't get a ticket, BTW, my bike isn't fast enough to keep up, saved me a few hundred dollars, haha.

Took the 33 from near Santa Barbara, to the 58, then the 41 to Morro Bay, and the 1 the rest of the way.
Great route, I'll do it again.

Took a little video on 58:

Been on those roads a long time ago when living in SoCal, I think they were dirt then( ;)),

Like the color Mark. What type of seat is that? Looks like it would be comfortable on longer rides ;)

That guy looks hysterical. An accident waiting to happen no doubt. I hope that you got far away from him soon.

Well I believe it is and old Russell Day Long Seat. They are still in business in No Calif, I have one on my vStrom. I found this on eBay for $20, guy was local so no shipping. They are custom made and use the orig seat pan so it fits nice. I wouldn't say its the prettiest seat but it is defiantly very comfortable. I suspect it was made in the 80's, kept out of the elements so its still in good shape.
thanks, Mark

You have my sympathies. Somebody did the same thing to my '64 DuoGlide over 35 years ago.  Whoever did it didn't stick around, and I came out to find the bike laying in a pool of gas.  Seeing your photo makes me mad all over again.

What makes it bad is I saw it happen and I was a second too lat to get to the guy and stop him. He was in a company truck and it will hurt him a lot more than it will me.
