Skyline Drive, The Blue Ridge Parkway, and Cherohala Highway are all great car or motorcycle roads you should experience once if not more often in your life. Mind your speed as they enforce the speed limit on them.
Once just after dusk while there was still some light to see had a bobcat cross in front of me about 150 feet ahead of me. It was across quicker than a deer, had them cross as well…they often graze on the sides of the roadway and in any fields adjacent, not too fearful as they aren’t hunted there and they know it… areas outside the range of a rifle and land adjacent to the parkways they are hunted in many of those areas.
I lived in TN, Appalachian mountains, growing up and in western NC mountains after college before 19 years in central Ohio and the humid hell of it in summer and snow and cold of winter…not a fan of Ohio. I like AZ and the desert, even the 102-103 we will have tomorrow afternoon…
