Yes, it’s old, it’s heavy, it’s suspension is underdamped and undersprung, it’s not the most nimble handling package on the road…… but there’s just something about taking it out for a blast on a beautiful summer day that never fails to put a smile on my face!

Never a truer word! Took mine out for a good run on Sunday and was so pleased it got an oil/filter afterwards!

Dang Steve, you're one tough hombre.  Being just a little ways from you, I can't seem to make myself go for a ride in this heat.

Having ridden my 550 in similar temperatures, the answer is LD Comfort top and bottom.   Close all the vents except the arm cuffs.  Let a microclimate exist inside your pants and jacket to cool you.   Mesh evaporates water too quick to give you any bennifit and will actually increase body temperature.   You are doing what the Bedouins learned long ago.

Thanks..yes, bike ran fine but did have a minor fuel overflow leak, haven ridden it in a month or so [maybe longer?]   A light tap on #4 carb bowl did the trick! If you look closely at the pic, there is fuel under the bike.

Yes, it was 102 at 4pm, rode about 40 miles in an hour or so.  No AC!

Well, I really didnt plan it and the wife took off to shop for new bar stools and I certainly did not want to do that!  Rather ride in 100 degree temps any day!!

Steve…. If I do oil changes just outside the shop door they always go smoothly. Inside, on a clean floor, I end up with oil everywhere! Every time!

Greetings from The Canadian North. This is my 77 rigid Stock themed Honda Chopper out on the road.  Honda parts tastefully used throughout the build. This is this bikes second life, originally built in the late 70s out of mostly 72 parts, and completed in 77. I rebuilt this over the last few years as a tribute to my late Uncle. Bike has a 77 motor, Badass chopper oil tank and electrical box, cb350 tank with cb125 emblems, 8 over forks, and vintage Harley signals. Curtis fr Canada

At Stockbridge today, just one Honda CB750k1 present and a sentry standing guard. But in a month the entire village square grounds will be covered and the square will be ringed with vintage motorcycles at the annual fall gathering All Clubs Day.

I got to put that date in my calendar.  I try to make it up to Stockbridge every year, because even though it's literally a straight shot up 52 for me, it's still a nice ride.

I probably won't be able to take the 750 (as the engine is still in pieces on my workbench), but my GL1000 should be good enough.

A nice rest stop during a test ride at Oak Run Dahinda Il.

Pay no attention to the temporary fuel line and filter. It was a roadside repair.

It really loves gas but there was a split hose leak going on for an undetermined time. I've been a resto guy for a while but it seems like every bike tells you what it wants to be. When it's on the main jet it runs strong, the low speed may need attention. I want to put air filters on it too. I love the velocity stacks but I love the piston rings too.
