There is actually 2 different roads in those pics. 1st 5 pictures are in Hillsboro, River road up on the top of the hill and the last by the yellow colonial is right off Rt 31 in Greenfield across from Zephyr Lake. There are still some great treats of dirt roads scattered about that have been kept rustic of the early times where you can slow down and enjoy the real old fashioned life in the area, both of the roads are like that and great places to clear the mind. There are lots more still. Clear a day and I'll take you out and about to capture some.
My dad used to take us as a family out exploring the areas we lived in here and up in Maine. He used to carry his fly pole and we'd stop for a bit while he'd wet a fly or 2 crossing a brook over old wooden bridges. It put the love for the possibilities of adventures in me, and not just getting stuck in life traveling to get to some place.

Great info thank you and yes sign me up for a Stu-guided ride!! I can only do weekends though hope thats ok. Free 4th or 5th May weather permitting But if not we will find a weekend! Been meaning to come visit

Right now it's looking like Sunday afternoon might be better than Saturday??? We'll have to keep an eye on the forecast as it gets closer....."if you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes "
And next Sunday is the Keene Swapmeet too so I was planning on going to it in the morning if the weather cooperates.

Hey Stu yes Sunday is now better for me so lets watch and see. Saturday morning I am tied up till 10am but free after that. Ill look into the Keene swapmeet as never been to that one.

This is the actual post office, but lighting was on the wrong side for the beauty shot.  It's the back side of the Oakland hills and a popular route for two-wheeled riders of all types.  How many times have I ridden my bicycle through here..?  Redwood trees are native to the area, and last I knew, the oldest second-growth redwood forest is in Joaquin Miller Park located nearby.  So yeah, Oakland has more than it's share of problems that everyone thinks of, but if they ever get fixed, the beauty and weather are still here.

Kinda like riding across the bay on Skyline Dr.
I know that the redwood is native there but never thought of Oakland as having a Grove, I've only been to an old Westinghouse building back in the late 70s to do some work.

Sean is doing well but having a delay getting on the road tomorrow, Wednesday at this point.
We've been wrenching on his beloved K2. Had the clutch out to inspect the lifter plate and discs today as he's been having issues of it going out of adjustment with the clutch, getting it into neutral and grinding gears since arriving in Halifax N.S.
It all looked good. We talked with Mark P this afternoon to see what he thought about it, he suggested that it sounds like not enough zinc in the oil causing the clutch to bind, the last oil change was 3,000 klm, with Motul 3000 Street(? he thinks).
Tomorrow morning we will see if we can find a shop with Belray 20w50(Mark's recommendation as it has zinc) as No one local has ZDDP additive.
Hopefully he will get on the road Wednesday.

Ok good luck in figuring it out! My two cents - check under the shifter cover that the gear drum screw has not backed out. Happened to me a couple of times on my K4 - one time while riding up the Glossglockner, Austria - had to pull over remove the shifter cover and retighten the screw - couldnt shift into neutral and eventually it got stuck. Ended up using locktite once I got home. Just a thought.

That's a good point Andy. I wondered about that possibility yesterday but Mark didn't mention it. Will have a peek this morning.

Do you have pictures of the loose bolt/screw Andy?
Is it the JIS screw on the end of the shift drum ?
Or the bolt holding the lever actuator assembly?
