Definitely a resemblance there, but maybe it is the farmer included on a monument to his lifetime of labor along with a few of his pals. As far as the camel's legs go, camels have gnarly shapes as it is. I look closer the next time I am down that way.

The Ford tractor was one of the first vehicles that I drove. I graduated from the WheelHorse when I was
about 13 or 14. Uncle didn’t have a trailer and he needed the tractor moved to town. He wasn’t going to let me drive the car, but he tailed me the 5 miles into town. Probably an 8N, I’m no student of Ford tractors.
The dam photo: looks like an apartment building instead of a turbine house stacked on the dam.
Thanks Kevin. That was the first time in a few weeks when the visibility was better than 5-10 miles. There are many Ford 8N and 9N tractors still being worked around here, and plenty more serving as roadside and yard art. That building does look a little like an apartment building from far away, but when you get closer it is industrial all the way, complete with a nice coating of bird #$%*, mostly seagull, I think.

Things have cooled down a little around here. It was around 90 when I started out, about 85 when I got back. About perfect, really. What I noticed after all the smoke cleared out after being around so long, was how the angle of the sun has changed. The light is different than it was in July the last time when you could really see anything. The change seemed abrupt because you couldn't see the usual gradual transition. Fall is coming and can be felt in the air the last couple of mornings.
I missed that before. It does look like it could be an apartment building, though the approval probably wouldn't get passed because of the risk factor, 100 year flood might take out the foundation and crumble into the raging River, loss of life etc....
Yeah, I don't think living on top of a dam would be all that prudent. About like building your house on the edge of a cliff. Of course, plenty of people do that.

Thanks Stev-o. I think riding with idea of taking photos makes me look at what is around me more and pay more attention. I'll see something and think that looks good. So I turn around. It is better when I am alone because it can drive anybody riding along with me nuts. I go alone if I know I will be looking for Kodak moments.
