Belfast-2-Belfast-By-Bike: The End of the Road!

Well finally the big  day arrived. I left early(ish) and a few hours later I was standing in Belfast, California! 6 months to the day since I left my wee French village, St Ferriol. There wasn’t a lot to see at this one 

My final destination is Fresno, CA, and by the time I reach there, this afternoon, I’ll have covered just over 14,000 miles (or 22 500 km). For those who haven’t seen it, you can read about the trip on my blog at ] belfast2belfastbybike.com]

It’s been an amazing trip, with good days and bad, hot times and cold, wet and dry, but that’s what makes a trip memorable. And to be honest, I doubt I’d have finished without the help, advice and support of many of our members here; thank you all!
 
Next? Well, I’m trying to fork out how to get my bike prepared and then shipped to New Zealand. That’ll be in the New Year.

Those towns up and down the Central Valley in California can be a little sparse, plus, it's very hot most of the time. They are also dusty.

Oh yeah Greg    That's exactly what I like to do,although sometimes I use a Bivy Sack and stealth camp,in certain places. The tent has plenty of room and it looks like a nice,low-stress place out in the wild.

Yes, one of my favorite things to do.  Pity the poor people in their gargantuan RVs, although I have to say those are nice when it comes time to take a dump.  Of course the downside is having to empty the tank at some point.

CB550 K0 (K1 tank) breaking in new pair of Battlax BT46. Getting a bit of front bounce at low speeds.

What a lovely looking bike. 👍

Front bounce on my 750 was reduced when I found one of my fork stanchions was slightly bent.

Improved further with a heavier fork oil. I think in my case, the lack of rebound damping was causing an over-reaction to bumps.
