I read that Shinko has Japanese design and tech, former Yokohama. Produced in Korea.
Korea is a leading country for phones, TV, screens and a lot more, tires included. Not the best but have good tires too.

Yeah Per, they’re cheap (like me) but I wouldn’t put them on my K0 or Kawasaki Z1-B if they were no good. Correct, Yokohama sold their business to Korea many years ago and Shinko was born. I used to put Bridgestone BT45’s on all my bikes but got sick of the front tyres wearing unevenly after a couple of thousand miles so took Daves advice and put Pirelli tyres on everything, but honestly I can’t tell the difference between them and the Stinko’s, so why would I want to pay twice the price for Pirelli’s? I’ve read all the horror stories from the guys here, but they don’t align with my experience, so each to his own.

My 1996 Hyundai just won’t die, I’ve owned it since 2002 and in that time I’ve only replaced tyres, batteries, brake pads, one windscreen, and oil, fuel and air filters etc. no major repairs have ever been needed. I’d like to say that all Hyundai’s are great, but recently discovered that some late model Hyundai’s are lemons, with one of the 10 worst engines ever made, which is a shame.

You might have a few days that are nice here and there;I'm from Ct. orig.  I used to 'Live' for a nice day to ride a little, here and there during the Winter when I was in my youth.

The long cold dark winter makes the first rides in spring fantastic!

Sone years we get a few spring days in  kate March- early April. Snow have returned 1 week in April the last years with 2 weeks off. Last years snow in the 2nd half of April.
Very annoying to then read about "Gobal warming" when I see the opposite. My biking interest make me to remember springs 45 years back.

My first 11 years with my K6, 1979-1990, the insurance was very expensive and income taxes here very high on a low salary so riding season was short anyway.
My jobs matched that very well with overtime to help with money for living a life.  Bike, bars, discos, girls/women, drinks and summer vacation going south where the sun was and still is.

I had no garage in house as I have now. Ok with months fixing things.
2 rideable bikes ensure a ride even when fixing the other.

Insurance now very low for full insurance all year and income taxes lowered too so riding all year around should not be a problem if weather/ climate is on my side.

The joy of first spring rides need still months of not riding for that special feeling.
3 months off should be enough, though. Not 5-6 months.

Or living in a country without winter, 2-3 months off due to the heat

It's the salt put on our roads that does the damage.

I bought a 20 years old Bandit for my winter riding. Made the mistake this year of sprucing it up. General de-rusting, deferring, new brake hoses, that sort of thing. It looks really smart. Now I'm reluctant to take it out on salty roads...

There's a product that S100 makes(orange spray can)that puts a protective coating on the parts which does help;it can be washed-off in late Spring.

Yes, that's meant to be the top dog. I have a ton of ACF50 to get through first. I do use it on the bikes, but it gets quite grubby after a couple of rides, on the surfaces treated. Protects them though.

We ride in the early morning here so we don't get as warm while wearing our gear. Many riders ride in tank tops, flip flops and shorts, no helmet. Road rash magnets is what I call them.
