Such a cool thread, great to see these old machines doing the miles still.
I think you woke my partner up GERHED now I have to go to bed grrr ;D

I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

Well, I took off the front wheel, speedo drive/cable and fender, then put the axle back into the forks, and hooked the axle over the hitch ball. Then we took about 8 tie down straps and secured the bike to the back of the suburban. I also took off the chain, because I was about 100 miles from home, and didn't want to fry a countershaft or a gearbox....

This F-2 was one of my daily riders. Here's me playing at the Dragbike Northwest Nationals in Spokane in the 80's.
When stock it was a Dragbike class record holder, (XH/S) it ran 13.07 @ 101mph.
I think the XH stood for eXtinct Honda...

Just moved from Indiana to Phoenix. This is my first day trip around the area and I went to Tortilla Flats...



and discovered that the exhaust touches down first at the joint between muffler and header, then muffler, then I back off because too many grinding sounds :o



...kept going past the Harley hangout through 22 miles of single lane dirt road. Sorry no pics along the way, but the views were awesome!



Finally, pavement again :D

Here's a couple shots of my gold bagger.  First one is me loaded down and headed for NC from MD.  That was the first weekend I got her running after a 5-7 year storage (previous owner).  1500 nearly trouble-free miles from that old K1.  Second shot is me on the bike while tooling around in NC for the weekend.

Well I did "break down" on the Grossglockner High Alpine Road, Austria...coming round a tight corner I noticed my gear shifter was stuck...couldnt move it up or down...had to drive slowly to the top to the main parking area and remove gear shifter cover (some oil did come out), screw in the screw that had backed itself out and got stuck in the shifter mechanism, replace cover and onwards  ;D

You would love these roads Sean...amazing stuff....

Looked through some old pics for whatever I might have of me and a bike in motion.  This fisrt one is not quite on the road, but I finding it brought a smile to my face.  This is back before digital cameras were available to the general public.



A later trip running around Lacona, NH



Me an a 650 Bonneville on the right.  I think we were headed to the White Rose MC Club's Japanese Bike event circa Aug 2002.  For the record, the Triumph made about a 200 mile round trip and only the speedo cable broke in the last 10 miles!


This one here is also in 2002, when Honda released the Metro.  I really do like this scooter.  Packs nicely in my 28' encolsed triailer!
