I'm new to this forum, quick question

I just bought a 76 750 four, and I was wonder why sort of drive-chain you would recommend. If you could link me to a site where I could order it or something like that, even giving me the size of chain that should fit it I'd be really greatful.

The best approach is to get a 530 O-ring chain and matching sprockets. The 530 chain made nowadays is about 10 times stronger than the 630 made in 1976, and 630 is rare now = expensive. JC Whitney has a kit, there are lots of other sources as well.

So you're telling me I have to replace the sprockets if I want a new chain?

The 1976 model CB750's (K and F models) all ran 530 chains, that changed in 1977. You will need to replace your chain and sprockets as a set, and normally the sprockets are cheaper than the chain anyway.

The chain length will depend on whether your bike is a "K" or an F", but most chains you buy are around 120 links so you'll be able to just remove a few to suit either application. Buy a quality chain, there are still cheap inferior chains coming out of China and Malaysia that are just rubbish.

O Ring chains aren't necessary if you're prepared to run a little oil over the chain from time to time, and are no stronger than regular chains. Also be careful of sprocket to case clearances, some modern 530 chains are so wide they'll chew into your soft alloy engine cases, which is not good! Cheers, Terry.
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)

Hey thanks for the info Teryy, but where can I buy a chain. I tried old bike barn but I can't order a chain until I know it will fit on my bike. I have a 1976 CB750F if you could specify what chain would fit in place of the stock chain that's on it now that would be great.

Your bike runs a 102 link 530 chain.Always replace your sprockets at the same time or you could ruin that new chain in no time.
You`ll need a 17 tooth front and a 48 tooth rear sprocket.
Look for a good brand name like RK , Tsubaki , D.I.D. or Regina to name a few and definitely stay away from the chains made in Malaysia.
