I thought it was a snowmobile until I saw the forks.

I think Mikey had a hand in this build.......

ya know, i admire those guys for making buttloads of money doing what they like, but, if you've ever seen one of their custom "theme" motorcycles up close you'd shudder to see the "quality" of the welds, workmanship on the production motorcycles is supposedly very good but their one off abomonations pawned off on the public as choppers are about as good looking and solid as a suit made in the former soviet union. hell jay leno is selling the one they made for him after much trouble with the electrical systems supposedly.

What I think is funny is watching them "build" the bike (I.E. watching them order the frame, order the forks, order the rims, order the pre-assembled engine, order the paintjob, order the chrome...)

In fact, I saw an episode where they made Jr. tear an engine down.  After his requisite hissy fit, he said, "I always wondered what they look like on the inside..."   ::)  ::)  ::)

What a turd.

Does that really surprise you?
Now SR... I would imagine he has had his hands in a few used motors being re-built.
JR... I think he would rather buy it pre-done up.
If it weren't for the help around him, there would be no OCC choppers.

Eh... paint it green, some fool will buy it.
And for a mint at that.

I would not say no to a visit as such either...

But seriously, I think I would rather check out someones shop that does the majority of the fabricating themselves and builds something from an existing bike.

The trick to watching their show without eating a bullet, is to watch it without sound.  Have the remote handy when one of the actual mechanics is actually making a part, so you can hear how it's done.  When Butthead and Butthead Jr. come back on screen, mute the TV as fast as possible.
Go metric, every inch of the way!

Though i gotta say, Mikey is at least amusing...   :D

I thought the episode where they used a jig to build their own frame FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER was interesting, too.  That's when I found out that they ordered almost all of their "custom" motorcycle parts, and the rest is purely cosmetic.

These guys are living off the emperor's new clothes situation. No one has stood up yet and said that their stuff is cookie cutter crap. These theme bikes are beyond ridiculous. Say goodnight reality.

i hate to admit i watched the show often. my only defense is that i'm starved for anything mechanically related to watch. the dysfunctional banter simmered down after a while probably because they sought counseling.

sr. i agree is the only real deal there but ironically doesn't do spit. jr. is the biggest loser. him posing on that 'luggs' theme bike (agreed, a joke concept) in the adverts says it all. without dad he'd be the cliche drunk hick who beats up is 14 year old wife. or dead. that other builder (name?) left the business/show and i think he just had enough crap. i liked him.

mikey is the most useless turd that ever squeezed out of a trap door. but him i like. both sons would be nothing without dad.

god i hate those bikes. ;D

Ecosse stepping up with the intellectual insults. Funny stuff.

I think they are all a bunch of yuppie douche bags posing as bikers. Bunch of tweekers that were in the right place at the right time. They would both be nothing without their old man, and even he is a pile of crap so that doesn't say much about the other two.

i was at AMI when they filmed the episode with the second web bike *dimples built, the green one. it had less than a gallon of fuel capacity and they couldnt keeep it running. i laughed when i saw it and went back to the bmw lab and got back to work. i still try and watch the show as theyre showing alot more fabrication by the guys that actually know what theyre doing, i just mute the teevee when beavis and butthead start ranting.

Rick and Vinny seem to have some talent but the rest of them are all the cast of a kind a goofy comedy series. I liked West Coast Choppers better (Monster Garage).Biker Build Off was better than both of those shows.(In my opinion....)

its funny, they own a bike "fab shop" but SR. had cycle x build a chopper for him, does that make sense  ???
the show sucks, the bikes suck.

Keep in mind guys in the beginning the show was reality.  Now it is basically a TV series and they are the actors.  They got to keep going to rake in the cash to keep their life style going.  I can not say all their bikes are crap.  They did make some nice looking ones and that is just my personal opinion.  I think the show lost a lot when Vinnie left.  To be honest, I do not really look for the show anymore.  If I run across it I may watch a little.

i used to watch the show. i never liked the bikes. i never though they had much talent either.  i started watching after i saw jesse james building some of his bikes. it was cool to see jesse james build his bikes.  when i saw these guys "build" there bikes i lost all respect for them.  a friend of mine got a bike from them a while ago before they took off on tv. he said SR. is cool but Jr is an ass
But thence came the Great Schism, when the two like tribes diverged, and the Bobbers did take the Road to Cruiserdom and the Cafe Racers did ride to Sportbikedom and they did pollute the lands along their paths with their abominable spawn of Choppers, Stuntaz and like manner of unholy douchebaggery

Jesse James is what I would consider a custom bike builder.

Vinnie left first to start his own custom shop and the Cody went to work with Vinnie.  I think that was like a 1 1/2 years ago now.  Vinnie has a website too.
