The spread sheet sounds good. What throttle did you buy? I want a cleaner look there as well but I haven't been able to decide.

I bought a throttle off of ebay at first. Threads didn't work (learned something there). So I ordered mine from Cycle Exchange. Good quality, decent price. Here is a link.

About the front brake. I am still on the fence on this one. I wrestled with it all morning on Saturday with no luck. My brake needs a new O-Ring to work properly. I will get to it...eventually. For now I am just enjoying the ride.

Thanks for the link, I'm buying one today.

David Silver Spares in the UK has the O rings and other stock maintence parts. The stuff shows up pretty fast and is reasonably priced considering their across the pond.

Your bike looks absolutely fantastic, it'd look killer parked in front of a dive bar next to all the chromed-up factory Harleys. Those guys don't know what they're missing out on.

THAT is a kickass looking chopper! i'd stay with the drag bars, or even go to a clip-on. this is just my opinion but i'd stick with that sportster peanut tank if it were mine. damn, i am jonesing for a chopper build now. i DO have that k6 750 frame out in the shed........................

edit : keep the front brake, rear brake only in a panic stop can make the front and rear swap places

Great looking bike. I'm starting to like the stripped/bobber look more and more.

Instead of losing your front brake altogether, what about looking for a drum brake up front? It's good to have front brakes...

I am not in the no town anymore

I moved down to Lubbock TX. I miss Reno, but I visit often.

Change of plans, I had always intended on running a front brake, just wanted to get it on the road quickly. Well, my inspection guy sayd I have to put one on. So now I have to find a rebuild kit for my brakes before I can get it registered. Anyway, now I am waiting for parts.

Quick little tutorial on how I (my wife) did my seat. Not sure if this is correct or not, let me know what you think.

List of Materials

Leather from tandy ($40 for 20 feet, enought to do 4 seats)
1 Blue closed cell camping pad from Wal Mart ($10)
Snaps and thread from from Hobby Lobby ($6)
1 Can of 3M super 77 glue (freebie from work)

Start with a seat pan (1/8" mild steel)

Bend to the shape you desire and glue 2 pieces of foam together with the super 77 glue

Cut out the leather with seam allowance. I don't know why, but I thought it would be cool for the black stitching on the seam to show.

After you finish showing, apply snaps and stretch over the seat like so, this is the back view

I love the seat, and that was just the kind of tutorial that I've been looking for. Two questions: What are the springs affixed with/what are they resting on below and how is the front pivot attached (welded, or bolted?)

The springs will be bolted down on two 1/4" by 20 TPI studs. The front, I just made a bracket with the bottom shock mount as a pivot and welded it to the frame. It works ok, but when I do this the next time around, I will use a biltwell mount.
