Paul, we share you sadness, if only just a bit of all that you bear. I will be on my knees praying for your sister, you and the rest of your family. Know that in these hardest of times, there are folks here calling upon God to comfort all of you. We wish we could be with you in person -- quietly standing by. We don't have the answers, but we call upon the One who does.

"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
And through the rivers, they will not overflow you
When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched,
Nor will the flame burn you. "

Isaiah 43:2

Paul, I can only echo the thoughts and comments already made and Know that the Prayers are coming from here as well.

Bill,
sorry i haven't kept up on your situation.
She is awake again and was making her smirk. I'm going to get another smirk out of her tomorrow cause tonight I said I really wish there was something I could do and you could almost see her tear up while I was. So tomorrow I'm going to tell her there is something I can and going to ask her if she would like my brain. My older sis asked her today if she can her everything and she shook her head yes. and she asked her if she could see and she knodded no. I'm just sorry to see her not up stairs in a private area. and in the front room like on display. but we wont get into that. She took about 7 good sucks of water from those spounge things. Then she so happy she smiles only in her way she can with all teeth showing it is so cherishable.
She knows when I'm there taking care of her.

from my experience, one of the few positive things to emerge from such difficult times is appreciation. appreciation for the utterly unique impact a loved one has in my life. and it is their character that truly is a gift. subtle things like a smile or a look does something to the spirit that's beyond my ability to describe.

my grandmother gave me many gifts, but her presence in my life means more than anything i can think of. it sounds to me like your sister makes this impression too. you might say ones pain is proportional to the good a loved one brings to others, simply by being them selves.

everything else pales in comparison to human bonds.

sorry for the babbling.

no reason to be sorry thanks for the kind words. It is amazing how she can have so little life left in her but can still bring a smile to her. she me and my dad (RIP) all have a laugh about it attitude. She can make most laugh.

Her daughter my niece Paige, there school choir is singing the National Anthem tomorrow night at the Rockies game. I'm headed over to take care of her and just going to blare the tv so she can hear it.

That's not babbling, and it's much better than I could have said it. Paul, it says much about the both of you that you can cherish these moments amidst the worry and anxiety. Thanks so much for the update.

Paul, that is just Awesome that your Sis can acknowledge the presence and appreciation in that way. It is Truly Awesome!

When my Mom was in the hospital with cancer (and was still pretty alert and all) I must have shown my feelings with my facial expression because she looked at me and said, " Don't look so serious, it's alright." She knew that she was dying and yet could be so calm and reassuring. It was only a day or 2 later that she went into a coma. I'll never forget those words, as they were the last ones I got from her. Of course, I knew that She was going to a better place (it was ME that was so distraught. Being only human)

Paul, sounds like your Sister is "Something Else" and I know that she is Proud of You! ;)

Thanks again for sharing. I'm so glad to hear that she got enjoy having her sight back for a bit. She has much strength, and amazingly has joy of living even in such a hard time. We admire the strength that both of you show.

she hasn't opened her eye since yesterday. The nurse was there today and her BP is 48 over something. Her circulation is shutting down.

I'm glad for her it is close now and no more suffering.

I can't explain how helpful everyone has been.

Thank You

Paul, I wish there was more we could do or say to help...

You are right to find the only good in this situation. She has fought hard and suffered long it is time for her to rest and move on to a much better place.

one can't help be to be effected when witnessing grace. the courage, strength, and grace evident in your posts paul, is remarkable, and humbling. she has earned her peace and the joy she will experience.

and yet my heart is heavy.

you have all my respect paul for your strength.

Your sister is blessed to be going to a place rest we cannot imagine. She is also tremendously blessed to know that this promise is true. Yet we are all still sad that she won't be with us here. Jesus himself wept when his friend Lazurus died. Someday, we'll all meet up there amongst the many mansions.

Our prayers are with all of you, and to echo what others have said, we wish we could do more.
