Glass From The Past.

Anyone used or using them? Timeliness?
How about quality of product. Are you satisfied?
Long wait or overdue on eta? Or on time.

I have ordered product from them and now all communication has ended and they have missed their (his) deadline (three weeks over).
Got everything but GFTP to build up my CB...
The non communication chaps my ass.

Hey all, don't know if this has been posted up before.
Antifraud.com is an FBI website devoted to scam/fraudulent dot com's.
Apparently they take it seriously...

Seeing how paypal does not protect me from a non ebay purchase, at least after 45 days from purchase, I pass my lesson on.
Since my parts were to be produced and sent in 30+- days and I have given the seller additional time to deliver my product in good faith, I am sol on protection from paypal.

Paypal only protects you under certain conditions!
Paypal says they're not an escrow service! lol

I believe certain websites know these time limitations, and know they can get away with rip-offs if you/I do not respond in the required time frame.

BE A PAIN IN THE ASS QUICKLY AFTER YOUR NON RECEIPT OF GOODS!

Just for those that don't know (as I didn't), paypal only protects you for 45 days (non ebay purchases).
Products that have to be produced can take more than 45 days, as in my glass tank to be built.
That equals no protection!

I believe certain questionable sellers know this.

If you use a debit card you have even less protection.

paypal told me they are not an escrow service, but thanks for the business!

paypal claims to be mostly there for ebay protection.

If you pay through paypal with a credit card, then you have all the protection offered by your credit card just like with any other credit card purchase.

if he does not make it right, call up your CC company and deny that charge!!! Gordon is right, your cc company will look into it and they will deny the money from paypal, then paypal will deduct it from his account... i know i have dealt with pay pal like this MULTIPLE times i got screwed for 1200 dollars and i had no choice but to stick it to pay pal for 1200 but thats besides the point... to think i alllllmost bought a seat from GFTP bout a month ago. good luck

Agreed. I am going through my bank now for that.
My money will be credited back to my account in 24 hrs. With a (up to) 90 day investigation by the bank.

Bret, show some good faith! If you have my products built, we can still fix this.

Fair is fair. Communication, money for product (paid up front as I did), and then product delivered.
I am not asking for anything more.

You really have saved me...I was going to buy a seat and full race fairing for my 400f
from him, because he was the only guy that had this stuff....and that was reasonably priced...

Whatever happened to that infamous "Brimmer" post.... seems like there was somebody in there that was able to track down all

As of yesterday, still no response from Bret @ GFTP.
Getting my money back from the credit card company is questionable as I purchased 64 days ago.
(But they did say they will credit my account with the money)

Sheesh, for anything that takes time to produce and with possible delays in mfg'ing, the buyer is completely at risk with his/her purchase.
(45 days with paypal, 60 days with cc)

COD is the safest way, but I don't believe many businesses prefer that way.

All I can add to this is that this is very unusual for Bret, something must be up. the last time I heard from him was Dec 13, which is unsual because usually we are in better contact. He is on a board with me and usually post there several times a week but has not since then either so I think something is up.

We can still work things out.

Since Bret has responded to this thread... I just wanted to say that he called me a couple days ago to follow up on an eBay purchase I made from him many months ago. I had let the purchase issue drop because 1) it wasn't a lot of money and 2) I'd originally asked him to hold off on shipping the part because I'd hoped I'd see him at the AHRMA races and thereby save him some shipping costs.

Bret has always been gracious with me and our dealings have been successful. I know that he relocated his operation in the last few months. Beyond that I have no knowledge about any other circumstances he has experienced in the last year or so.

If he does as he indicates - follow up on all outstanding issues with all parties - I will recommend him for your future business. We need credible suppliers for vintage fiberglass in this country; I hope Glass from the Past will be an alternative to the all-too-few current suppliers. RR
