Sex Sells, Part II...

I wonder when eBay will start regulating stuff like this....

I was looking for some Cb750 stuff and read the description of auction #4577916860. Toooooo much information! :o

They are too busy suspending accounts of people with 300+ positive feedback like me for doing things like buying goods not specifically listed for my country....

Nothing wrong about the Pamela Anderson pic -I've seen more articles that put a chick on the gallery-, but the joke about the BJ is out of place and says a lot about the seller.

If the seller says "ships to Liberia only" and you bid on it from Iceland, the Ebay system doesn't stop you from bidding. If you are the "winner" then your winning on it when it isn't for sale to you is treated like backing out of any winning bid, ie it's frowned on mightily.
When an auction ends there's a listing cost and commission payable to Ebay by the seller and Ebay is aware of rather a lot of ways to cheat them out of this money. Many such ways involve delisting items and backing out of deals, so Ebay leans pretty hard on anyone who does those things.

But I've always paid what I've bought, what does eBay have to say with that? If the seller refuse to sell me and claim the fees back I would understand, but if we complete the transaction and exchange feedback, what does eBay have to say?

I just used a "buy it now" on a set of gaskets.  Ad said will ship to N & S Americam Japan, etc.
I get almost to the Paypal part and I read, "WE WILL NOT SHIP TO CANADA"  I've been out of school for a bit now......but I think Canada is in North America!

I emailed the guy, but have not heard back from him in two days.

Seaweb: If it's the same guy, he just hates Canada and Canadians. He won't give a reason, but it's personal rather than procedural - I have found some sellers who don't feel like putting the packing list and invoice on the package for customs.
It takes all kinds, I guess.

I just re-read the small print at the very bottom of his ad. He does indicate no Canada, but I never read that stuff at the bottom.
I just look at the top where they indicate where they will ship.

Here is my pain.

Man, that guy is a jerk. Only reason I can think to not ship to Canada from US is the length of time it takes. Maybe the guy was getting too many emails saying "Where's my stuff?"
I know when I send a birthday card to my brother it takes 2+ weeks, (from Vermont to Montreal!!)

Maybe it has something to do with Homeland Security?

-I've hit that a lot from guys not wanting to ship into Canada. Some claim the amount of paperwork is overwhelming and others still are resentful of no going into Iraq. I have several guys in the US that I use to send the parts to me when sellers don't ship into Canada. A heads up though, do not try to get the guys to place "gift" or below makret value on the items too often. Customs canada does do spot checks and if you get nailed for trying to slide one by, it does get messy. On the reverse of that, overstating the value in hopes it will get treated better, or a better payoff if lost will generate more excise and GST fees and are a real bear to get readjusted to reality. They really snapped the locks on the re-evaluation for the last 10 months or so.

Quick update on my No Canada shipping issue.
The guy emailed me and said his reason was that "Alot of ebay sellers were getting ripped off by Canadian buyers. ?????

Anyway, he said he checked my history and will ship to me.

Thanks for the offers guys

Same with me. A good feedback with lots of international transactions speaks a lot about a serious buyer. Even when I have a brother in L.A., if a seller don't want to sell me I don't bother my bro, just go on and wait for another one to pop up.
